“I had emailed the host asking for directions and letting them know we would be arriving late - David replied quickly and was fine about us arriving late (02:00!). On arrival, our hosts had already put logs on the fire and had our breakfast waiting for us to eat in the morning. In the morning, David popped in to introduce himself and was very helpful in explaining what was round the local area. We were in France to view properties but unfortunately our estate agent let us down - luckily our hosts David and Karen had bought a property in France (where we were staying!) and had experience in this field. David organised viewing houses, introduced us to local carpenters, plumbers and showed us how he had succeeded in buying abroad. Unknown to us, we had arrived on a bank holiday so no where was open for dinner - Karen cooked us a 3 course meal (Thai food which was excellent) and both hosts went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and ensure our visit was not a waste of time. I have stayed in hotels all around the world, some of them extremely pricey and never have had such a warm welcoming and excellent hospitality as I had staying at The Nookery. The house we stayed in was so cute, and traditional french style. My favourite part of the house was the kitchen as it was very clean and tidy. I cannot stress enough how helpful, friendly and kind our hosts were, they even came with us to view properties and we are now in contact via email about properties in the local area. We are 100% returning and without a doubt will be staying with David and Karen. I would definitely recommend this site to a friend and we hope to keep in contact with them!”

“This is a new venture for a lovely couple Lisa and Darren who were very welcoming. The gite' is perfect for four people and works as a double and twin bedded to give flexible sleeping. Fully equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, full cooking stove, it's a complete home from home. Dogs and cats are allowed; we brought our dog with us. Doggie treats, a doggie bed and bowls supplied which is a lovely touch. The property is in a beautiful hamlet with very good access to lots of interesting places in the area. Our main purpose was to visit the village of the martyrs at Oredour Sur Glane, approx 14 miles from the property.”
