“This is not your usual chain hotel: this is a historic, well-cared for hotel with charm. Rooms, grounds, lobby--the hotel was fabulous. The coffee delivered by room service was great--and I am a coffee snob. One could sit in the lobby in a comfortable chair near the fireplace and read or enjoy a glass of wine. The bar was great, the bartender was open to suggestion and delivered my cocktail perfectly done. The van service was extensive and timely. We went to the Roosevelt Spa which is right next door and the van took us there. no problem (the spa itself was super: all the staff were charming and the services delightful, unhurried, and well-done. It snowed all night our first night; otherwise, the walking in the adjacent state park would have been easy and wonderful--trails well paved, etc. Really a great value.”
