Steinenschanze Stadthotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city centre and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town. Annette at the front desk is a perfect hostess....calm, helpful, friendly, kind, and very competent. We had had a difficult journey with complications and Annette helped us every step of the way. I will return. 100% certain of that!

The hotel’s design was really nice, stylish and consistent across every room. The attention to little details was amazing. There was a really spacious and comfortable library room for both reading and working if needed. There was even a sauna (although i haven’t tried yet). I like the separation between bathroom and shower room. All products used within the facility were good quality. The staff were super friendly and helpful. And the food at eater attached to the hotel was very delicious (for all dinner, breakfast and even late night snacks).

Set very close to banks of the River Rhine, this designer hostel is next to the old city gate of St. Alban. The place was chill, clean, and modern with a nice interior.
