Recently renovated, the room was spacious and one of the nicest accommodations we stayed at in our 3 week tour of England & Scotland. However the price was very affordable, in line with places that were much less spacious and with fewer amenities and lesser quality. The Pickled Pheasant was conveniently located just outside the Peak District, a short drive to the Dales. Easily accessed off a main thoroughfare, but very quiet and peaceful. The room featured a true king size bed, large walk-in shower, window seating, desk seating, an armoire, and (rare for much of the country) washcloths in addition to hand and bath towels. We opened the large windows in the morning and enjoyed the beautiful sound of (nearby but not loud) church bells There is a pub and breakfast dining area on the main level. WE only stayed one night so were not able to take advantage of the walking guide that was provided with specially designed hikes beginning at the lodging. We would definitely choose to stay at the PIckled Pheasant again!

The Huntsman Inn is a wonderful place to stay. It's located just outside Holmfirth town center with incredible views of the Moors. The rooms are nicely decorated & spacious with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The food & service in the restaurant was outstanding but the best thing about this Inn, is the staff.
