I have no bad thing to say about this hostel. Yes it could look like a normal private room hostel, but the way we felt staying at Rafa’s hostel was so amazing, that we came back two more times. Everything was great, even if there was a minor inconvenience, Rafa helped us in seconds. So this was obviously our favorite hostel ever. Also the rooms are nice, AC is great, the breakfast is really yummy (nica breakfast), and overall the vibe is very chill and calm. Thank you Rafa!

The communal spaces and garden are beautiful and spotlessly clean and I loved all the little details like your own space in the fridge and that you can buy/order in groceries and drinks. Location was super quiet and close to the beach and it was really hard to leave this little bit of heaven!

Reyna and her staff were welcoming and efficient. The room was clean and modern, with great pillows and linen. The wifi was good and there was a fabulous view of the volcano. Excellent.

By far the best hostel myself and my girlfriend have stayed in during our trip to Central and South America. There is such a special environment/atmosphere created here which is ultimately due to the dedicated and friendly people that run the hostel. The common areas (including the kitchen) are all beautiful. Whether it's the living area which looks out over the jungle or the kitchen which is modern and has all the equipment you could ever need. Also, the beach is 5 minutes away from the hostel. You will undoubtedly fall in love with Maderas and Hostel Clandestino and never want to leave!

The rooms were a good size. We really loved the space. The pool was nice to cool off in and the onsite open air restaurant was great to relax in when we didn't feel like going into town. Breakfast was good and convenient also. Staff were helpful and helped arrange motobike hire and taxi transfers etc. Access to a 24hr bar fridge was a bonus also - so even if the bar was closed we could still get a cold beer etc. I'd definatley stay here again.
