Big room, big shower, comfortable bed and nice breakfast (à la carte fresh sandwich + coffee, at preferred rate) at the coffee next door. The recommendations we received from the owner were a spot on, it made our stay in Koya-San very memorable!

Best and most beautiful guest house I've ever stayed in. The owner speaks great English and is super helpful. He helped me figure out all the best things to do in Koyasan on a map. I thoroughly enjoyed every one of his suggestions, from watching the monks in the morning, to the fire ritual, to the dining options! I was initially worried that the guesthouse was far from town, but it's actually pretty ideally located. It's right beside the famous Okunoin cemetery and if you are to walk from the Daimon Gate on the far side of town it takes less than an hour. I would definitely recommend it to anyone and would stay again. It's pretty well the only affordable place to stay in Koyasan as the temple stays are very expensive.

Room facilities are up to bar with some 2-3 star hotel I have been to. Tommy is a super friendly host. He recommends a lot of great local experiences from places to have dinner to different trekking trails and temple rituals you can attend for free. Tommy and his wife run a cafe next door and it’s open from 8am which is a rare thing in koyasan (most shops open at 11am). Everything was extremely clean, there were clean towels, new water and tea on the second day. The guesthouse is just a few steps away from the bus stop in the center of Koyasan.
