This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property. Super nice place, extremely clean and beautifully done. The private onsens are amazing and are a huge plus. Great location to explore Yunomine Onsen and to trek the Kumano Kodo. Free rice in the evening and rice porridge in the morning (cooked with onsen water I think) as well as a great huge kitchen to cook in. We ended up having dinner in a local restaurant because we were too lazy to cook. There is a convenience store close by to buy the eggs and sweet potatoes you can boil in the Onsen water. The staff was extremely nice. Good atmosphere among other guests as well.

This recently renovated guest house is located 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall and 31 km from Hosshinmon Oji Shrine. The guest house has a hot tub and a shared kitchen. Perfect stay, on my way on Kumano Kodo. This place is perfectly located to have a one-night stop between Takijiri and Hongu. Ike is a very welcoming host, and speaks very well English! He and his wife are two great cookers, as I had the chance to try their dinner/breakfast/luck box. I truly recommend! Thanks a lot! :)

It is situated 500 metres from Shingu Castle Ruins Park and provides full-day security. The guest house features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. what a great little place. If you have a small group, the 4 ppl room on the 3rd floor is perfect. The place has lots of great info in multiple languages and the affiliated izakaya was the perfect place to go for dinner.

We really enjoyed the sauna and hot tub that felt brand new. It is also a convenient 10-minute walk to the beach! The host took some memorable pictures of us, which we also really appreciate. This is a special place ran by a genuine, down-to-earth host. Thank you G-Sun for creating a lovely Wakayama experience!

The guest house is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in. Nice garden, comfortable living room and big sleeping room. It’s exactly our dream house in Japan. We highly recommend you to stay there. The couple are very nice and helpful, they gave us useful recommendations. We sure we will be back!

The air-conditioned guest house consists of 1 separate bedroom, 1 bathroom with slippers and a hair dryer, and a living room. Towels and bed linen are offered in the guest house. For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. The host Koji drove us to our Kumano River tour the next day which was a 20 minute drive and he did it very generously for us. He was very flexible with our check-in time and was extremely gracious and friendly and helpful and made sure we were very comfortable and then left us alone. The apartment was great for four people and it was quirky and spotless and charming. I would definitely stay again.

The room was very spacious, the biggest we had during our trip so far. Very clean also and nice beds. Really loved this place ❤️ Also I highly recommend to have dinner in the restaurant downstairs. It’s nice, the food was great and again; the hostess did an amazing job there.

We really liked the guest house hachi hachi. The host is extremely nice and gave us great information about the temples and hiking tours. The rooms are large and the mattresses are comfortable. Everything in the house is very well maintained and clean. The bus stop is only 100 meters from the guest house. It is easy to explore Koyasan on foot from the guest house. It is only about 5 minutes to the Famili Mart.

The property has mountain and garden views, and is 11 km from Tokei Shrine. There is free private parking and the property offers paid airport shuttle service. This was my last stop on the Kumano Kodo (hiked in reverse) and the experience here was truly special! The owners were incredibly kind and helpful and the food was spectacular. Definitely would come back here the next time I am in Japan.

The rooms will provide guests with a shared bathroom. A refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine and electric kettle are shared. This was such a great stay! Simon and Yumiko, the owners of this small Guesthouse are such lovely and inviting people. Simon met us at Kii-Tanabe station at our pre-discussed time, and drove the 25 min to the remote guesthouse. The atmosphere around the property is serene and so quiet, such a good change in pace compared to Osaka! Simon helped us with our Kumano Kodo walking plan, and then the next morning dropped us off at the start of the hike, another 30 min drive away. There’s a small shrine that you can walk to close to the property. There are two guest rooms on property, we were the only ones there, so it wasn’t loud. We had a microwave, fridge, electric kettle and heater/air conditioner unit in our room. They also provide coffee and green tea and cups! Highly recommend!
