Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Portman Lodge offers accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. With free private parking, the property is 20 km from Monkey World and 25 km from Poole Harbour. Corfe Castle is 32 km away and Salisbury Racecourse is 35 km from the guest house. Breakfast was excellent and honestly why we chose Portman Lodge. My husband wanted to experience an English Breakfast. Neal was super helpful and friendly. The room was much nicer, comfortable and more modern than expected.

We had the spa room overlooking the garden. It was spacious and beautiful. However, the highlight of this property is of course Princess Pumpkin. She is adorable!

Hostess served homemade croissants every morning with assortment of other breakfast foods. Most quiet place I have ever stayed. Hostess was wonderful and quick to help with anything I needed (which was not much because everything was so well organized)

The location was perfect and conveniently located next to The Red Lion serving excellent food and cask ales. The breakfast provided was super - plenty for us, nice variety of continental eats with fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, croissants and cheese and ham. My husband is six feet and broad shouldered so he had a tricky time in the shower but made it work (like he always has to!). Water pitcher, biscuits (thank you!), coffee and tea provided in room. Super clean and comfortable for a short stay. Finally, Vince and Irene were wonderful hosts!

There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. the property is a beautiful building with a high standard of decor, is spotlessly clean with good facilities. the communication with Sue was great and she was there to meet us when we arrived, gave us a tour of the accommodation and provided us with a map as well as directions to where we wanted to visit and have us tips on where to find local amenities. Parking was private and convenient.

The location was ideal, easy to find and only a short walk into town. The breakfast was very good, quality produce all well cooked. Our room was at the back and therefore very quiet, a comfortable room with everything we needed for our stay.
