Having breakfast on the roof deck was a highlight of our entire trip. The hosts were extremely kind and explained how to quickly walk into town and to the Ella Rock hike using the railroad tracks right behind the property. It was far enough from Ella town to be extremely peaceful, yet close enough to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The room itself is quirky and has a lot of character, which we loved!

Location: looking over a beautiful valley of crops, rice paddies, jungle, birds, squirrels. Wonderful to be away from the tourist packed centre of Ella. Yet it's just a 5 min drive / enjoyable 20min walk from there. Room: very comfortable bed. More than one light in the room (rare in budget guesthouses in Sri Lanka). I had a room above the main house with a private balcony with table & chairs & even better views. A small frog likes to spend time high up on the bathroom wall but was very quiet. I loved this but if you have a phobia of frogs I suggest: get over your fear or book a different room.
