Situated at the foot of Ben Nevis, the long-established Glen Nevis Youth Hostel is just 3 miles from the large town of Fort William. It offers easy access to high and low-level walks, mountain biking, kayaking and other adventure sports.

One of the best hostels I stayed at and just across the street from the Ben Nevis trailhead. The girl who worked front desk (Emily I think her name was?) went above and beyond. The staff was great, facilities were clean and there was a lot of space in the kitchen and common area. The bathrooms and showers were also private which I liked. I definitely recommend staying here. A very pleasant and comfortable experience.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Room was spacious with bunk beds, there was a clean kitchen and study lounge for us to use. They have a small cosy bar and a cinema with daily events so it felt like a student hostel really. It was surely a value for money!

The atmosphere was very firendly and safe, full of other backpackers winding down from hikes! The kitchen was very well equiped and the dining and chill out areas were great for hanging out and meeting other hikers

Lovely property, clean and modern, great location, rooms very small, absolutely no sound proofing whatsoever.. was like sleeping in a dormitory with the room next door snoring and talking in there sleep, never slept a wink …

Great location and super clean hostel. While it was by no means cheap as far as hostels go it was in a truly beautiful location and immaculately clean. We were two adults and a 17 yo and we slept very comfortably in a four bunk room. I was also surprised at how comfy the bunk beds were. We arrived late and were lucky enough to grab last call for dinner at the bar/restaurant just 1/4 mile south of the hostel. Again, location location location.

the atmosphere, from the friendly welcome to the décor and facilities, everything was beyond my expectations. This hostel is a great way to travel solo while meeting others. The facilities were also very clean and the kitchen well equipped for cooking. The staff and volunteers were also really friendly and all over I had a fab time. The dormitory also was very safe for a solo traveller. It really was a home away from home vibe.

Used multiple times for a cheap stay in the Fort. Cannot fault it for the price. Decent hotel room for less than the cost of a bunk in a youth hostel these days.
