Located in Fort William, 1.1 km from Glen Nevis, Fort William Backpackers provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. With free WiFi, this 2-star hostel offers a shared kitchen. The property is 17 km from Loch Linnhe, and within 400 metres of the city centre.

I arrived a few hours early by bus, and stopped by to see if I could drop off my bag. They has luckily finished cleaning my bunk and I was able to check in early! Then, I was pondering what to do, and they gave a lovely suggestion of the nearby walking trail, and it was so worth it. There are helpful signs of other hiking paths and things to do in and around Fort William as well. After my hike, I was able to enjoy a free hot chocolate, from the mixes in the kitchen. There was also coffee and tea, and free milk as well. The lounge is super cozy and by evening time there was a little fire going, which added to the ambiance of it all. I truly felt like I was in a Dickens novel, if that isn't too cheesy to say! The wifi was also very strong, which was great! Check out was easy, and there were a few signs that reminded you what to do just in case you had to check out when the staff were preoccupied. Overall, a great experience. I truly recommend this place.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Great location and super clean hostel. While it was by no means cheap as far as hostels go it was in a truly beautiful location and immaculately clean. We were two adults and a 17 yo and we slept very comfortably in a four bunk room. I was also surprised at how comfy the bunk beds were. We arrived late and were lucky enough to grab last call for dinner at the bar/restaurant just 1/4 mile south of the hostel. Again, location location location.

Glen Nevis Youth Hostel was easilly my favourite hostel stop on my trip. It's out of the town, right in the Glen, and so close to Ben Nevis. The view from the terrace is beautiful! The kitchen is big and well-equipped, the lounge is nice with a fireplace and beautiful furniture - a nice spot for an afternoon glass! They also have quite nice bathrooms.

Great location, contrary to some previous reviews all staff were very friendly and accommodating at all times. Great value for a budget hotel with ample parking that is not in tight bays. Would recommend and return.

Nice and clean hostel with good kitchen and bathroom facilities. The room i stayed in was very small, and the bunk bed a little too short for a 190 cm tall guy like me. But overall a good stay.

Used multiple times for a cheap stay in the Fort. Cannot fault it for the price. Decent hotel room for less than the cost of a bunk in a youth hostel these days.
