The cottage was clean and very new in appearance. From the welcome sign to the friendly customer service we felt at home. The cottage had everything we needed and more. The breakfast hamper was superb and full of food and they catered for my dietary requirements.

Company information

We have lived and worked on four continents and traveled extensively, finally settling in Australia. We found Maleny purely by chance and fell in love with everything it has to offer and love that we are able to share this special part of the world with others.

Property information

The well-appointed, spacious guest cottages have adjacent parking and free Wi-Fi. All have an open plan living-dining-kitchen area that leads on to a large private deck with ceiling fans, outdoor dining tables and barbecues. The kitchens have high end appliances and there is an indoor dining area. Televisions can access DTV and streaming services. There is a wood burning fireplace in all cottages with enough wood and kindling provided for your stay during the colder months. All cottages have reverse-cycle air-conditioning and fans for heating and cooling. On Burgum Pond is part of a nature access strip and the property is therefore not fenced. There is an abundance of bird and wildlife at On Burgum Pond, including a vast variety of birds (kookaburrras, galahs, cockatoos, herons, white egrets, king parrots and lorikeets, to name a few), wallabies, echidnas, bandicoots, possums and our free-range chickens, that can be enjoyed on the large decks. There is a vehicle height restriction for access to the carports of 2.3m and both Possums Retreat & Kookaburra Cottage are accessed via stairs.

Neighbourhood information

On Burgum Pond is 2km from Maple Street, Maleny, 1.5km to the golf club, 5km to Lake Baroon, 7km to Mary Cairncross and a short drive to all the local wedding venues. There is a local Sunday market in Maleny and the Eumundi (Wednesday & Saturday), Witta (3rd Saturday of every month), Montville (2nd Saturday of every month) and Mapleton (4th Saturday of every month) markets are also nearby. There are a number of award-winning local producers such as Maleny Dairies, Maleny & Kenilworth Cheese Factories, Maleny Coffee, Maleny Wagyu, The Brouhaha Brewery, and Maleny & Kenilworth Bakeries.
