Robin Hoods Well is a historic mid 1800’s property located in the beautiful country side of Sassafras, North West Tasmania. The farmstay cottages are situated on 60 acres of pasture and nature reserves. The main homestead where the hosts live was built in 1860's. The cottage is called Long Johns cottage as it was a seperate workers hut at one stage then dragged up the valled to sit where it is today. Lots of history in this place. The other farm accommodation is a Garden studio which, like it states, sits amongst the gardens but has the ultimate views of the valley & water. We have 3 more exciting accommodation units to grandly open in March 2018. The Blue stone barn is being converted to 3 studio apartments boasting valted ceilings, huge living area and King size beds. Amongst these new units will be our deluxe unit facing north, with private patio decking area which includes a jacuzzi & BBQ outdoor living. The whole farm is open to guests for bush walking and we can certainly arrange a farm tour with handling animals and harvesting food. Caters to: Families, Couples, Groups, Caravanning, Glamping, Horse & Rider, Farm experience, nature lovers, photographers, artists

Michael and I love living in Tasmania. We enjoy the farm and caring for our animals. Our hobbies are riding horses, lots of gardening, breeding show chickens, teaching & facilitating my art retreats & being involved in community projects.

One of Australia's finest heritage towns where you will live the history and love the nature. Built on mining and agricultural beginnings from the mid 19th century Latrobe was once a bustling port on the banks of the Mersey River. The former port is now the scenic picnic parkland Bells Parade, but you can step back in time in Latrobe's main street where there are 75 heritage listed buildings, including six on the National Estate Register. Our colourful past is on display at the Courthouse Museum. Industry aside, Latrobe has a rich sporting history. The Australian Axemans Hall of Fame recognises Latrobe's pioneering role in competitive wood chopping, with the first wood chop competition in the world staged in Latrobe in 1891 in addition, the annual Latrobe Boxing Day Carnival - which features athletics, wood chopping and the richest wheel race in Australia - is the longest running carnival of its kind in the world. The Australian Axemans Hall of Fame and Timberworks is the first national museum dedicated to this aspect of our colonial history. It is also an educational and entertainment centre. Sassafras is 4 mins out of Latrobe centre and is known for its fertile land.
