It’s a family staying and everyone is friendly and happy, you feel part of the family. Good vibes, great experience. Food is not compulsory but you should have meals with them, typical good food.

The property was definitely as explained in the description. It was neat and clean with a comfortable bed for a home stay, good fly screens and a most appreciated fan. The family was lovely and helpful. There was plentiful food. The best part would have to be their reef out the front. It was probably one of the best snorkelling experiences we’ve had as far as beautiful corals go in Fiji and also some unique fish. A very quiet paradise to enjoy.

Emily and her boys Colly, Dean and the 3rd whose name I forgot are lovely. Great place, 3 fantastic beaches easy to access, rich fishing area, comfy bed ( slept till 9am), huge portions for dinner and breakfast (had to leave out lunch, still full).

Super friendly family which makes you feel really welcome. Very chill place and most beautifull beach and reef in front of beach so far. They arranged diving for us (with Barefoot Mantaray resort). Very affordable activities and arranged private transport to our next resort. Lots of food!!!

There were no mosquitos when we stayed which was nice too.

Wai Makare means crystal clear water! And that’s exactly what you get. I spent so much time swimming, snorkelling and walking along the beach and reading in a hammock! It was dreamy! Seru was the perfect host and made sure I was happy, well fed and comfy. Very caring! It was great!

We had an amazing stay at Wai Makare Homestay. It feels like you’re the only people on the island, the beach is very pretty and we did some amazing snorkelling. Emily, Jay and the rest of the family are very friendly and hospitable. We loved coconut hatching with Jay! The food was delicious as well.
