Company information

Hello we are Steve and Sheena and we are Scottish. Having worked in France before returning to the UK some years ago, we have yearned for a reason to return to France. Having spent many holidays searching around the coast of France for the perfect place we finally found this wonderful house on Ile de Re! After several years of searching, this was the one! It is a perfect, traditional French with stunning courtyard, only a few minutes to the centre, we hire bikes entertain friends and enjoy sharing this with others with a passion for France. We will ultimately retire here and share our time both in Les Chardons and in our Scottish house Centre Stables Loch Lomond, which we also let out for holiday rentals. Les Chardons is a typical Réthaise villa situated in the beautiful coastal town of Saint Martin de Ré, within the Vauban fortifications. Private parking is provided at this holiday home. This 3 bedroom home which offers Free Wifi and Netflix includes 2 ensuite bathrooms with a further family bathroom and an additional separate WC. There is a separate lounge seating area, a dining room with sofa bed and fully fitted kitchen with Dishwasher, Oven, Fridge/Freezer, washing machine, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machines. This holiday home offers an outdoor barbecue, enclosed private south facing garden with sun loungers and outdoor table and chairs. Just a short walk from the chic harbour town of Saint Martin de Ré, wander down the narrow streets and enjoy the typical réthaise architecture, shops, bars and restaurants, enjoy some fresh seafood in one of our many harbour restaurants or hire a bike and explore the rest of this small yet beautiful Island!

Neighbourhood information

We are within the historic walls of St Martin. Which means we are only a short stroll to the wonderful shops and restaurants in the centre of the town. A 10 minute stroll to beaches. Many enjoy hiring bicycles as it is flat and easy to cycle around the island. We are on a quiet road, we have our own parking space at the house. We have a courtyard and garden with double BBQ and 6 Lafuma sun loungers. The garden is south facing and we have a shaded area as well. We consider our house to be perfectly placed with parking and ideal for St Martin living.
