Myself Dave, and my wife Andrea, have ourselves enjoyed many short breaks and holidays on the Lincolnshire coast since 2002, but always dreamed of moving here eventually. We enjoy hosting, and meeting people, so it seemed only natural that running a B&B would give us the ideal opportunity to combine this with our knowledge of the area, to help others enjoy everything Lincolnshire has to offer, especially here in Skegness. We take great pride in what we've achieved at the Brackenhurst, and look forward to providing all of our guests with a warm and friendly welcome, and a clean, comfortable and pleasant experience.

Property information

The Brackenhurst, is a traditional small family run Guest House which had been established for many years. When we purchased it towards the end of 2019, it was in a pretty sorry state, and the old reviews highlighted a number of issues, so knew it needed a lot of work to bring it up to the standards we'd expect. We initially spent over 7 months carrying out much needed refurbishment & renovation work to enable us to open four rooms, and has continued at the end of season each year since. Our aim has been quality of quantity, to create a more comfortable, homely and individual feel to our rooms, as well as much improved storage. We offer a selection of affordable room types, all en-suite, including a deluxe double ground floor room ideal for those who find stairs difficult. You'll also be pleased to know, we've created a relaxing guest garden area for you to enjoy, complete with water feature. What about parking? We have 4 free guest car parking spaces available, 3 at the front, 1 at the rear.

Neighbourhood information

We're ideally situated for everything Skegness has to offer, located just behind the main seafront, and within 10 minute walking distance of the beach, town shops, bars and restaurants, and all the main attractions. These include the Embassy Theatre, Tower Cinema, Skegness Aquarium, the Famous clock tower, and of course boating lake & crazy golf. A little further along the seafront is the pleasure beach, amusement arcades & Skegness Pier. If you prefer relaxing quiet walks & nature, Gibraltar Point nature reserve provides a pleasant 3-4 mile coastal walk, and there's many more scenic walks within the Lincolnshire Wolds, designated an AONB (area of outstanding natural beauty). A visit to the Natureland Seal Sanctuary is a very worthwhile experience, or of course just relax by marine lake, and the many seafront garden areas.
