Just footsteps from the beach, spend your days paddleboarding, walking the coastal path or exploring the English Riviera before retreating for a glass of something chilled on the sunny terrace. In winter months, snuggle up on the sumptuous sofa for a cosy night in. There’s plenty to do without needing to drive anywhere. Whether it’s dips at dawn or exploring Teignmouth’s trendy arts quarter, this is the Devon homestay you’ll be returning to again and again. Light, bright and decorated in calming coastal tones from mermaid teal to thrift seapink, Coombe Bank is an oasis at any time of year. Revel in the delights of seaside living, from relaxed mornings sipping coffee in the outdoor lounge area and sunbathing on the terrace, to lazy family barbecues in the south-facing garden, where you can catch the sun’s rays well into the evening.

Neighbourhood information

Teignmouth’s charming Back Beach is located on the estuary side of the town and has spectacular views looking towards Dartmoor, particularly at sunrise and sunset. Splash in the sea, go rock pooling or have a go at one of the many water sports on offer. Don’t forget Coombe Bank has two pddleboards available exclusively for your use to get to know the area by water. You could also hire a boat for the day or take the small ferry across to Teignmouth’s hidden gem, Shaldon Beach.
