We offer THREE different types of accommodation. All are self catering. Evening 'cuppa' and 1st. morning's breakfast supplied. We supply all rooms with bed linen and towels 1. Private bedroom for ONE person only, with kitchen & en suite facilities (shower). Large single bed, comfortable armchair, TV. wardrobe. Kitchen - fridge/freezer, combination microwave, induction hob, kettle, toaster, crockery,cutlery and utensils etc. Do NOT use hob if you have a pacemaker or defibrillator. 2. Double bedroom for one or two persons, with kitchen & en suite facilities (shower). King size bed,two comfortable armchairs, TV. Wardrobe. Dining table and two chairs. Kitchen - fridge/freezer, microwave, induction hob, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery and utensils etc. Do NOT use hob if you have a pacemaker or defibrillator. 3. Double bedroom for one or two persons, with kitchenette and PRIVATE bathroom - it is NOT en suite and NOT shared ( three steps across the landing and two bathrobes are supplied), with bath and separate shower. Double bed, two comfortable armchairs, wardrobe, TV., Kitchenette - SILENT fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, crockery, cutlery and utensils etc.
We have been together since 1983 and married in 1988. Between us, we have five children, two boys and three girls, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. We have lived in this house since 1986. After the children had flown the nest, we turned Southcroft in to a guesthouse and was awarded 4 Gold Stars by the Tourist Board and the AA. Now is the time for another change.The house is situated in a quiet no through road, half way up a hill, on the western edge and overlooking, the market town of Bridport. Free parking is always available outside the house.
We are about a 7 minute walk from the centre of town where you will find a selection of independently owned shops and, on Wednesday and Saturday, we have a weekly street market. There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants. The Arts Centre and Electric Palace provide diverse entertainment. Bridport has a small but very interesting museum, a monthly Farmer's Market and, as well as many villages organising their own fetes, the town hosts its own annual festivals - Food and Beer, Music, Film, Literary, Hat, Folk, not forgetting the Annual Carnival in August, followed, on the Sunday, by the Torchlight Procession from Bridport to West Bay. Plus the Meplash Agricultural Show and Buckham Fair, Pony and Dog Show (Martin Clunes). West Bay, our seaside, is 2kms. south and part of the stunning Jurassic Coastline, and, yes, the cliffs, shown on TV's - "Broadchurch", are real. West Bay is a pretty harbour surrounded by kiosks, cafes, bars and restaurants. As part of the coastal defences, a new 240mts. long pier has been built which is wheelchair/pushchair friendly with plenty of seating along the length and recessed lighting for evening and night visitors.
