Please contact your host for further information. 【About history】Owner of the house, Yamaguchi family is the founder of Fujiya Hotel, the oldest western style hotel in Japan located in Miyanosita, Hakone. We have an exhibit about Yamaguchi family in the study room and the living room of the Main House.

Property information

Yamaguchi House consists of the Main House (American and European modernism architecture) built in 1930 and Villa Ohira-so(Japanese Sukiya or tea house style rooms) built in late 1940s. Both properties are registered as a tangible cultural property by the Japanese government. The first floor of the Main House has the entrance hall, the study room, and the living room facing the veranda and garden. The second floor of the Main House has a bedroom with 2 single beds and the wash basin. It is decorated in romantic atmosphere with antique furniture and Scandinavian textiles. We have a toilet next to the room. Villa Ohira-so is the extension part of the Main House. It has two historic Japanese rooms designed by Sukiya (tea house style), You can use one room as a bedroom with two semi-double beds. It was originally designed for the tea house, so we have Tokonoma, decorated by chrysanthemum stone and Bonsai. You can use another room with Hori-gotatu style table as a living room and dining room. Also we have well-prepared kitchen and a toilet t function. You can enjoy a private natural hot springs experience of Ohiradai Onsen, by Open-air rock bath and In-door bathroom.

【About children fee】Children is free to stay until 6 years old. When they use the bed alone , adult fee will be charged. If you need the amenities like towel, tooth brush and slippers for children until 6 years old, JPY2,000 will be charged. Yamaguchi House is located at the front of "Ohiradai" station of Hakone Tozan Railways and "Ohiradai station" bus stop. OHIRADAI is a cozy and quiet town, which has a natural hot springs. It is also famous for a spring water since a very long time ago. So you can walk around the town and visit spring waters such as "HIME NO MIZU" (which means "Water of Princess"). Also,we recommend our local Tofu(you can buy at TUJIKUNI shop) or Yuba(You can buy at HAKONE KAKUYAMA）which made from soy beans and local spring water. It takes 2 min walk to General store MARUKIYA, Liquor store HOSOKAWA,. and Izakaya TECCHAN. BBQ equipment is available. When it is rain, you cannot use , but we provide a grill plate for table cook.※We prepare electric BBQ grill. BBQ using charcoal by yourself and Open flames such as bonfires are prohibited as there is a risk of fire.
