The property has two separate three-bedroomed houses, Wine Luxury and Country House, which have been beautifully restored in keeping with its traditional use as a farmhouse, but also with finesse and taste to offer a unique and stimulating experience. WL has a large sitting room and an ensuite bathroom in the master bedroom. Both houses are fully equipped with air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi, wood-burning stoves and full kitchen facilities. We always welcome our guests personally on arrival, and our friendly staff will offer you a complimentary drink and an orientation to the property and the area. A homemade breakfast option is available on request, and guests have full use of all the facilities including bicycles and walks in the private grounds. Monte das Aranhas is situated 10 km from Estremoz and 35 km from Évora; both towns offer days out and sightseeing opportunities Monte das Aranhas is a unique, lovingly-restored farmhouse set in tranquil vineyards with wide-open views of Alentejo. It is one of the few farms practicing organic viticulture in Portugal and is part of the sustainable tourism movement; the owner is fully committed to developing environmentally-friendly processes.

I started Monte das Aranhas as a personal project as I passionately believe in ecological viticulture and I wanted to pursue this interest as part of the growing sustainability movement in Portugal. I also wanted to welcome guests to this beautiful part of the country, and to offer them an experience not just of the region but also of the farmhouse. My family and I have tried to create an environment where guests can relax in tasteful and unique surroundings, and also learn more about wine production in Alentejo. The plains that extend as far as the eye can see start close to the Tagus. While to the north, the pace is set by the green of the flatlands, further south the landscape combines with the sun, the heat and a slower pace of life. This is the Alentejo.
