Although I travel frequently, I rarely write reviews. However, exceptional experiences like our stay at Terrabona compel me to share. Our accommodation was outstanding in every aspect, from the private, luxurious apartments complete with a herb garden for creating fresh tea blends each morning, to the wellness area featuring a sauna with a breathtaking panoramic view. The owners' exceptional hospitality ensured our vacation was perfect, consistently going the extra mile for us. The location is also ideal; while it may seem somewhat distant from Funchal, it's actually just under 45 minutes from most island attractions, including the finest Levada walks, charming villages, and Funchal itself.

Great location, a 45-minute drive from Funchal. The house is beautifully decorated with various design items. Fantastic linen bedding, two types of comfortable pillows, luxurious bathroom with soft water, delicious breakfast, warm fresh bread was left on our doorstep every morning - there is a herb garden where you can pick your own fresh herbs to make tea. A luxurious and heavenly accommodation in the rugged nature of Madeira. Because of the layout, you usually have the enchanted infinity pool to yourself and the sauna behind it with a sea view completes it completely. With the rushing stream in the ravine next to it in the background, you can completely relax. There are definitely some beautiful walks in the immediate area. And the stars at night…..oh the stars! Both owners were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. What an oasis. We would love to come back again!

The location is stunning, surrounded by beautiful forest and incredible mountains. The villas are wonderfully designed and so is the pool and sauna, fitting seemlessly into the surrounding landscape. The opportunity to dine with the owners was an excellent touch to learn more about them, their wine, have a wonderful meal and meet the other guests. The owners are also very attentive and helpful, and provide a wonderful selection of local and homemade foods for breakfast.

Having travelled extensively throughout the world, in many countries and many places, I can assure you this is one of the top places I have visited in 45 years of travelling. Madeira is beautiful, this place and the location is beyond stunning. The owners go out of their way to make you feel at home, the staff is great, the breakfast lovely and the view, well, the view - it will take your breath away. Setting is idyllic. Mountain View’s are awesome. The individual units are large, very well equipped and offer peace and tranquility along with fresh warm bread delivered for breakfast, a fridge filled with gorgeous breakfast ingredients, a fruit platter, Madeira and wine from the grapes grown in the vineyard outside your door to buy if you want it. The pool and sauna are beautiful and clean …. The view from the latter is unique. Your hosts are great. Internet is strong.

Very pretty little private paradise. Friendly people and amazing views on the surrounding mountains. Clean, brand new design villas. They bring you fresh bread and local (organic) fruits every day. The pool and sauna are great :)
