I felt that older people have to be warned about the amount of walking involved in a visit to the Eden Project. Even getting to the main entrance from the car park is quite a distance. As it was a particularly hot day, we were exhausted and I explained that I could not walk back to the car park as my feet were sore. So, to our relief a lovely young girl came to our rescue and drove us in a buggy back to the car.
We loved the Eden project, it was so interesting. Allow plenty of time to saunter and wear something light and cool especially on a sunny day. In the tropical biome there is a water fountain where you can fill a bottle of water and a cool room half way up.
I go every time I visit Cornwall. It is a stunning place to immerse yourself in. So much beauty, incredible planting, views, learning opportunities and activities. The Food Area is fantastic with a wide range of delicious food to chose from. The Biomes are stunning, you need to dress to accommodate the high temperatures inside & fully enjoy the totally immersive experience of the Rainforest & Mediterranean. I always go on the train, there is a shuttle bus to Eden from there & back but there are extensive carparks ranged round the site.Definitely an experience not to be missed!
The Eden Project is a place that just keeps evolving, it has been many years since my last visit and it has completely changed! I am pleased it is still going and has found way's of keeping it interesting through activities and concerts.
The Mediterranean garden was very pleasant. The Rain Forest I found oppressive as it was very humid indeed and slow moving crowds! The land train back to the entrance and the bus to the car park were lifesavers.
Great day out, lots of walking. Ideal for a wet weather day. They have the longest Zip wire in England for the brave. Huge restaurants where you can buy food or sit and eat your picnic. Some of the walking is quite steep but there is a land train to take you around. The Biotomes are fantastic as are all the other exhibits.
Great location for the Eden project ,lost garden of Heligan and some of the lovely harbour villages all accessible by public transport. The hotel itself is walking distance from St Austell train station. They offer a very nice breakfast and dinner menu. St Austell itself hasn't got much to offer in terms of sights or restaurants but Charlestown is only a short taxi ride away and a must to visit tall ship harbour, nice pub and good restaurants
St Austell
The location was perfect for our trip to the Eden Project and was also great for heading to Charlestown, where we had our evening meal The property was beautifully furnished and there were lots of nice touches in the room, nothing forgotten and more than you would get in a top hotel in many cases. Breakfast was made to order and had choices for all tastes - delicious! And the hosts were lovely and friendly too!
St Austell
The hotel is beautiful and the owners and staff kind and helpful. They allowed us to take our dog at the last minute when we were let down by our dog sitter, the gardens are superb and the food wonderful. Thank you! We would definitely return for another visit. Also 10 minutes drive from the Eden Project which was the reason for our stay.
St Austell
Well-equipped, clean and comfortable apartment which was very well-located for visiting the Eden project. We stopped over for a night and hadn't particularly planned to explore the area, but headed down to the nearest bit of sea front which turned out to be the beautiful and historic Charlestown Harbour.
St Austell
The location was great as was a quick journey to the station and also to eden project. I received all the information the morning of our arrival & there were no issues getting into the apartment. There were good facilities in the kitchen to cook when we needed to.
