When you get off the elevator ("lift") from the ticket office, you're in the east pedestrian bridge. All the Chinese tourists rush to have their picture taken sitting on the glass floor, one after the other. You can avoid this bottleneck by simply heading to the end of the pedestrian bridge and going to the west tower, which is generally underpopulated (and has a mirror over the glass floor to facilitate selfies).
Go to the museum at the top and read through the history; go below to see how the mechanism works; or do both. It’s fascinating. Best place to view the bridge opening is from the deck of the ship HMS Belfast.
The bridge experience is fun; it is very cool to walk on the glass floor over the river. We didn’t get timed tickets because we weren’t sure when we would finish our tour of the Tower of London and we didn’t have to wait to get in. You can get some nice selfies from the south end in the area below the bridge.
Really interesting to see from an architectural, historical and engineering perspective. We went to the nearby Tower of London which is an absolute must for any London visitor. Well worth the entrance fee but understandably expensive for those who cannot afford it and families.
Walk across the bridge high above the traffic. Over 200 steps up, but they do offer a lift up for those with limitations, or strollers. There are glass panels in the floor of each side so you can get great pictures of the traffic and people below.
If you walk across the Tower Bridge into Bermondsey search up The Watch House Coffee, 199 Bermondsey Street. It really is one of the best coffee houses I have every come across, for an Australian that is saying something. Go there, the food is also as good, enjoy it before you walk back over the bridge
I got a free upgrade to a suite with kitchen and living which was excellent. Breakfast was nice and quiet. Due to the time slots, there were never too many people and the personnel were friendly and very helpful. The location was also perfect, in the centre of London, near to the tower and tower bridge. Tower Hill underground station is around the corner, with a direct ride to many popular shopping and sightseeing spots. Ubers are also readily available but may take you longer due to traffic congestion.
What a great little find! This hotel was just across Tower Bridge, so great location for everything LONDON. The Hotel reception area was very on trend and the staff very helpful. The accommodation was BRILLIANT! My daughter and I booked a studio, which was tastefully furnished, had everything you could need including a dishwasher AND washing machine. The beds (a little narrow) were super comfy, the bathroom was stylish and roomy too. We were very impressed!
Great location near several metro stations. It is also in walking distance from City, Tower Bridge, Shoreditch, and other interesting places in London. New and modern building, nice furniture, view from the windows. Great toiletries in the bathroom. Everything in the kitchen for cooking (except the pan btw). Nice bed and pillows. Comfortable lounge zone on 5th floor with free coffee and tea and wi-fi, so great place to work if needed.
I enjoyed the location as it is a short stroll to Tower Bridge and the Tower of London as well as a short walk to local shops in case you forgot anything you wanted to bring or purchase late night snacks. The room was really comfortable and welcoming, and checking in was simple and smooth.
Superb location, about 200 yards from the Tower of London and of course Tower Bridge. My room was upgraded because no restaurant service due to covid 19 regulations. This was my second visit to this wonderful hotel and will definitely be going back.
I liked very much the location in the very downtown of London. I was there on New Year Eve, and despite stopped London Underground for Covid reasons, I was with 19 min. walk at Tower Bridge. This property is more cleaner then the usual in London.
Location and Tower Bridge view was amazing. Breakfast was exceptional.
