I think there is enough written about this incredible place but I want to put some light on "Queen Sirikit Textile Museum" which is easily overlooked because it is not well known and it's is a bit hidden on the grounds of the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew. The entrance ticket for the Grand Palace is also valid for the textile Museum but you are also able to visit the Museum on its own for 150 THB.
It is situated in a beautifully restored colonial-style 2 story building from 1870 which was the former Ministry of Finance.
The museum collects, displays and preserves textiles from South East-, South- and East-Asia with a special emphasis on textiles and garments from the Royal Court since ~1960. It's beautifully arranged with a lot of interactive information on numerous little touch-screens! It was Queen Sirikit's endeavor to rediscover almost lost Thai textile- and fabric-making and revived these processes all over the country.
The museum also hosts an education studio, a lecture hall and Thailands first dedicated textile conservation lab. In the Museum shop on the ground floor you can buy high quality textiles, accessories, table cloths, shawls, silk by meter and many more beautiful items.
The intricacy of different techniques of fabric weaving is incredible and explains why these pieces of art are so expensive and unique!

Looked forward to seeing the Grand palace but wouldn’t allow...
Looked forward to seeing the Grand palace but wouldn’t allow us to enter due to dress code ! Please note we had full length trousers and full length top with additional long scarf around arms and shoulders. We were shouted at to leave as scarves don’t class as cover up. (No skin was visible apart from our faces) we entered peacefully and left without questioning) this was just myself and my 22 year old daughter. Perhaps if the scarf was purchased from one of the vendors outside this may have changed their view about letting us enter. I researched the dress code well in advance and made sure we were entering with correct wear. Disappointed ☹️

Certainly a must-do in Thailand.
Certainly a must-do in Thailand. Incredible architecture and an insight into Buddhism from a Thai perspective. Loved our visit to the Grand Palace. Important that both males and females have long trousers or skirts with no shoulder showing - no shorts allowed at all. They won't let you in. There is an enterprising shop across the road making a killing selling long pants.

All visitors have to wear long trousers and cover shoulders - if you don't, you will have to purchase overpriced items.
December 2022 - all visitors had to wear masks, unsure why as they weren't required anywhere else in Thailand, not even on the metro.

Come as early as possible. Get audio guide, hat, water.
Come as early as possible. Get audio guide, hat, water. Enjoy your 90 min audio guide. Too crowded nowadays, we dont enjoy it.
We did enjoy Queen Sirikit Textile Museum in the same complex. I think people should go there - also cool with AC and clean bathroom!

The hotel was lovely and had a luxurious feel to it. The rooftop pool was gorgeous with stunning views overlooking the city. Our room was spacious and kept clean everyday. The location was perfect for us and was within walking distance of Ko San Rd, the Grand Palace and other attractions and easy enough to get taxis / tuk tuks to locations further away.
Beautiful decor and lovely swimming pool. We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is well-situated for visiting the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. The Chaopraya express boat is handy for getting around.
Lovely boutique hotel so close to all the big attractions of the Grand Palace, the river and Khaosan Road. The pool was a perfect way to unwind after a day of sightseeing and the breakfast was terrific. The rooftop terrace was an unexpected bonus and the staff were polite and attentive.
The hotel is in a good location, near the river for boat trips to China Town, the Grand Palace and many beautiful Temples. Iconsiam, Bangkok’s premier shopping centre is a short walk. The room was clean and the facilities including a late night convenience store are excellent.
Location on the iconic Khaosan Road. Location to some amazing places like the Grand Palace etc all within walking distance. Swimming pool on roof. Simple no fuss hotel
Beautiful modern hotel with two pools, located on a canal in the heart of Bangkok's old town, half an hour's walk to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, from where you can take the ferry to Wat Arun; 50 minutes' walk to China Town. Many restaurants and small stores in the area. Large, comfortable room, very good breakfast, friendly staff, quiet.
Needed to get a grab taxi to visit a lot of places around. There’s mostly shops selling religious articles surrounding the hotel. We found a few coffee shops. The roads around are very busy, Chinatown close by in a garb as is the grand palace and khan san rd. the pool was small but excellent.
Facilities were really nice & great mix of being able to be social if you want to be rather than it being a party hostel. Able to take showers after check out (great in the Bangkok heat).
Friendly staff and helpful group WhatsApp chat you can join to organise plans (although it wasn’t the most active during my stay).
Great location for sightseeing - can easily walk to the Grand Palace, Reclining Buddha, Wat Po, Golden Mount & Khaosan Road.
