Windermere Hillthwaite Hotel has an elevated position and a terrace with stunning views towards Lake Windermere and the mountains beyond. Some rooms also have views towards the lake and mountains. There is also a guest lounge with a log fire and lake views. Excellent staff, very attentive, great interactions with our four year old boy. Room was stunningly beautiful, bathroom had a wonderful mirror in front of the bathroom that turns into a telly. Afternoon tea was very nice, Scones are very tasty.

A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. It offers stone walls and en suite bathrooms. Everything! Such a great. relaxing and special place to stay. We planned to eat out in Keswick some evenings as we were staying for 3 nights. However we couldn’t drag ourselves away as the food was all fantastic. We also loved the way that dogs were treated. They could go everywhere too. They even had a sink outside for muddy paws with warm water and fresh towels.

Very clean and spacious, attractive room, huge comfortable bed with good quality bed linen, big TV, spacious bathroom, large shower cubicle and great towels, first meal in the restaurant was delicious (beef bourguignon), good local ale at a reasonable price, breakfast was mixed but full English was very good. Dark haired lady on duty on our first night was lovely, friendly and very professional (apologies for not having a name). Contact via the app was good and the code access worked well. We enjoyed our stay.

The property was super clean, tidy and cosy. We could instantly see every little detail had been well thought out upon our arrival.
