We liked the vibrancy of the city but felt there could be more signs for places of interest. For example walking to Royal Ontario museum up Universal Avenue was not mentioned on any maps that were obvious and we wasted time locating it.
Toronto is a very cosmopolitan city. There are various attractions to see like CNN Tower, Casa Loma, Ontario Museum, Distillery District and it is also close to Niagara Falls and the charming Niagara-On-The-Lake. The public transport is efficient and you can get pretty much everywhere using it. For breakfast I certainly recommend Cora which has great waffles, pancakes and French toasts. I also loved the coffee.
We love all the attractions, the view, the excitment by far the best city in Ontario. The Secret Garden Restaurant was amazing. Hersheys chocolate covered strawberries are to die for. And of course the GREAT CANADIAN MIDWAY is always a blast.
City that looks like a mini Vegas, fun, touristic, more expensive than the rest of Ontario cities, great view of the Falls from Skylon Tower, nice walk along Niagara River.
We came to Toronto to go to Anime North, an anime convention. It's the best convention that I know about in most of Ontario. We didn't have any issues with traffic there or back, which was nice.
Toronto is a rapidly growing urban paradise. The downtown skyline is beautiful to behold and the city is packed full of incredible places to eat, shop, drink and generally just have an amazing time. Beaches on the shore of Lake Ontario are a must, alongside a cycle out to Tommy Thompson park for an unbeatable view of the city.
Plenty to do and see in Toronto. Take the open top tourist bus to get an overview and plan exploring the city from what you see and hear on route. It also includes a tour of Toronto Island by boat which is interesting and you get great views of the city skyline from here. This may tempt you to get the ferry or water taxi across to the island for a day trip walking, cycling or lazing on the beach Other attractions worth seeing are; Sea Life Aquarium, CN Tower, Castle Lomo, Ontario Museum and the Roger's Centre. A little outside the centre but on the subway route is High Park. Hire a bike to explore the waterfront. It gives you a way of inexpensively getting out of the centre and there is a prescribed cycle route along this area. Be careful where you book your accommodation, like most cities there are some deprived areas and these are not suitable for families.
The city is charming, the food is great and it's on lake Ontario. People are friendly and helpful. Would love to live there. Free ferry to Wolfe Island is great. Easy and beautiful drive along route 2 to Glendora ferry to get to Picton and Sandbanks.
Didn’t realise it is the 4th largest city in North America. Very clean, modern and easy to navigate, Lake Ontario is amazing, huge, yet it’s the 2nd smallest of the 5 Great Lakes!
Loved Fergus! A cute an quaint little town on the river with beautifully preserved architecture from Ontario's early days. With lush gardens and plenty of decent eateries, it made an excellent backdrop for our wedding festivities.
Excellent taste in furnishings and design. Welcome and reception exceptional along with the continental breakfast. In fact, I had messaged the hotel before arriving asking if there would be vegan options…they said yes but I was so so pleased that the selections far surpassed what I was expecting. Also, I recommend getting a room on the river-view side as it really added to the charm and hotel experience. We will definitely spread the word about this gem of a place to stay in a lovely little town in Ontario!
Location/view close to Niagara and view of Lake Ontario beautiful. The 2nd room was very nice. But we had to haggle w front desk people to get us out of the dumpy room we were put in first. This is after I spoke to manager over the phone and stressed my concerns over their reviews - he told me if you are not happy with your room I will make it right. Of course when we got there and had a dump of a room - he was not on duty…so I had to go back n forth w women at front desk - who are not so friendly…
Windsor
Great alternative to staying in Detroit. We came for the Detroit Lions game in America, but stayed at this hotel in Windsor, Ontario. Easy trip back-and-forth across the border. Convenient location to both countries. Wonderful staff, great price, very clean, nice room. We were on a Great Lakes road trip and this was the perfect stop to see like Erie in Ontario, before heading up to Bruce Peninsula to see Lake Huron, and then continuing on to Lake Ontario.
Nice big and clean rooms. Excellent location on the coast of Lake Ontario. Close to CN Tower or Ripley Aquarium (10 min walk). Breakfast was only possible a la carte, an alternative could be breakfast at a classic Tim Hortons (1 min walk to the left of the hotel) or Evviva Breakfast & Lunch (7 mins walk). The free bottle of water in the room was a pleasure. Very professional, friendly and helpful staff at the reception.
It is very close to the shopping malls, restaurants, and subway stations. Moreover, it is very close to Chinatown, Royal Ontario Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario, so it is very convenient to travel around the city and explore Toronto. Finally, you will get the chance to try different kinds of food around the world, such as Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Vietnamese food. Overall, it is a very good experience.
Waterloo
The location was on one of the best University campuses in Ontario, maybe Canada. The wi-fi was worked in mostly all buildings across the campus. There was plenty of nooks to sit and lounge or study, sip coffee and relax or get things done. Each building complex was unique to its discipline. A small lake and conservation area was within walking distance but there were bicycle trails everywhere.
Stratford
The location was extremely central. We were a 3 minute walk to the Avon Theatre and less than a 5 minute walk to Ontario Street. The bed and sofa bed were both very comfortable and the apartment was very clean, nicely decorated, and well equipped. We will come back if available and definitely recommend it to family and friends. Thanks for being a great host Carl!
very clean. the staff were very helpful and courteous. We were very happy that the hotel is pet friendly. The pool and sauna were great. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were very friendly. I salute them for helping out the hospital with their overflow of patients. Who knows where these patients would be. Our Ontario government is killing our care system.
Thunder Bay
Beautiful clean hostel, it felt very homely and loved. We arrived super late as we were on a long drive through Ontario, but our room was cozy and they left little chocolates and info about the hostel in our room. The bed was super comfy. We didn’t wake up on time for breakfast but one of the team put a pot of coffee on for us in the morning when we did wake up.
This is an excellent property. It is well located and the view of Lake Ontario, the CN Tower and the Rogers Center is outstanding. The apartment itself is new and stylish, and the appliances worked well. My family was very comfortable, and having a in-and-out parking spot next to key attractions was a huge bonus.)
We have a very relaxed stay in the hotel. All the facilities in our room are new, and we enjoy the indoor and outdoor pools. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. There are quite a few restaurants nearby. And the hotel is near the southern shore of Lake Ontario. We have enjoyed morning and evening walk there.
Well located hotel with all the amenities. On main street, but tucked up against nice neighbourhood. Very comfortable room and bed, and very quiet. Breakfast the next day was excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. Price was very reasonable, and less expensive than other stays in southern Ontario.
We were travelling from Texas to Ontario with 3 kids - we were looking for cost effective options but a clean comfortable stay. This hotel was exactly that - it’s not your 5 start hotel but it doesn’t pretend to be, it was cozy, clean, friendly and the breakfast was great for my kids. No complaints!
Good location off the highway but not loud at all. Clean and modern facilities a huge step up from most other Northern Ontario hotels. Staff friendly and helpful in all cases. Complimentary breakfast bag. Controllable AC in the room. Comfortable beds. Wifi fast enough to watch YouTube with no loading.
Location was everything. We were seeing a show near by, so we were walking distance to great restaurants and the theater. Breakfast comes in a little to-go box that you get from the lobby. Perfect idea when you're on your way out. Bed was super comfy. View was Lake Ontario
Very comfortable room. Full breakfast included. University based so workshop attendees were also staying, but not a university residence. Not your typical hotel environment either, so a nice compromise. Driving distance to the centre of town. Walking distance to Lake Ontario.
Amazing view of Niagara but sadly it was so foggy you sometimes couldn’t see it. Excellent location and near all amenities. The breakfast downstairs was good too except for the coffee but then again that’s mostly in Ontario (we’re Australians so we tend to be coffee snobs).
The Hotel staff is what truly stand out at this place. front desk, cleaning, restaurant. All so pleasant and always accommodating. I also really appreciate the parking structure. Not having to leave my vehicle out in the often nasty Ontario weather is a real nice bonus.
Hotel room was clean, pool area was great and the resteraunt in the hotel was amazing too ! It was close to the first ontario centre so we were able to get to our show promptly. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely come back to this hotel in the future.
The room was excellent, very close to where we were going, walking distance to Firstontario Centre. Breakfast was great had everything we enjoy eating, (except chocolate milk). We did not need to worry about are car with the private parking. Very friendly staff.
