In the historic old town of Burgdorf, the elegant Hotel Orchidee features a rooftop terrace with panoramic views, as well as an à la carte restaurant and stylish rooms. Super friendly staff with a lot of passion. They made vegan breakfast for us (order in advance!) Cool rooftop terrace. We were on a cycling trip and could lock our bikes indoor. No problem.

Located right in the Old Town of Burgdorf, the elegant Hotel Stadthaus is only 300 metres away from Burgdorf Palace and the church. All rooms feature Nespresso coffee machines. It was an absolutely amazing stay. The room was huge and just beautiful. Staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was great.

The hotel Berchtold with its own parking garage is very centrally located in the shopping quarter, only 1 minute's walk from the station. The only irksome thing was the Wifi. Most hotels just let you into their Wifi as a guest and the others just need a password. Having to sign into Swissscom and giving them all sorts of info was a little over the top for me.

Located in the town of Langnau in the Emmen Valley, this hotel features an award-winning restaurant and a vinotheque. The modern rooms are individually designed and provide free WiFi. The staff was very attentive and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The location was great for walking and close to the train station. The hotel restaurant is fabulous.

Located in Kaltacker, amid the scenic surroundings of the Emmen Valley, Landgasthof Lueg offers a restaurant, individually decorated, themed rooms, and free WiFi access.Spa access is at a fee. A wellness trip that should bring relaxation and a bit of activity was what I was looking for and it was exactly what was offered at the Lueg. The german couple that manage the hotel are were so nice in accomodating me. So many little things. For example they noticed that it was my birthday and lit a small candle on a small cake for me; so cute! Then they fired up the wellness area although I was the only one using it. But I was so greatful. It gave me exactly the relaxation I needed after a hike which was also aided by some recommendations by the host. Then the two dinners and the perfect service by the bavarian waiter on the first night. As there was a seminar going on at the hotel at the time, there was a small conflict in intressest in the smokers lounge. The waiter managed this situation like a boss. He quickly took the initative when he realized my wish to have a smoke after dinner and asked the people from the seminar what their plans were. Then he organized the two rooms for each of us and everybody was happy. That's what I call perfect service. This guy should get a raise :) The hotel is off the beaten track, but that's exactly what I was looking for. Still it is reachable by public transport directly from Burgdorf.
