Hotel in Kirn
Royal Marine Hotel Dunoon is located in Kirn. Built in 19th century, this 3-star hotel is within 10 km of Benmore Botanic Garden and 14 km of Blairmore and Strone Golf Glub. The work of the staff was wonderful. We had no money but the staff let us charge breakfasts. We lost our wallet and our means of payment. We were writing to the Church of LDS when we received a call from a merchant with whom we had lost our credit card. He drove from his store to the hotel and delivered us our money! And would not receive a tip'!

Based myself here for 2 nights whilst walking the Cowal Way. Prices for hotels en route were unaffordable for a solo walker. Great location 5 minutes from the pier for ferries and buses. Single room was warm, had hot drinks and a TV. Ensuite small but functional Very reasonable price for a single walker. I don't normally eat at hotel restaurants but after the first night, decided it was so good value that I would eat there the second night. Italian/Spanish menu - good sized tasty portios at a very reasonable price.
Tighnabruaich
Very well run, pretty hotel located right by the water in Kames. Big bright rooms, very clean, cosy. Meals in the restaurant are well done, both at dinner and breakfast. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Great hotel to stay on the Cowel peninsula. Local village shop up the street stocks a great selection of local food items and is handy to stock up on picnic supplies. Great location to the ferry at Portvadie or for walking the Cowal pathway walk.
Tighnabruaich
Beautiful location with stunning views from the good sized, very comfortable living room. Tastefully decorated and emaculately clean. Has everything you need in a well supplied kitchen. Bus service up the road so you can walk/run back to the apartment from various points along the Cowal and Loch Lomond Way. Friendly neighbour! 😀
A comfortable and welcoming Scottish country hotel, located in a most scenic area, providing an excellent level of service, including excellent cuisine. Located thirty minutes from Dunoon, so is handy for the Cowal Gathering.
The price was almost double the normal because of the Cowal games .we feel should that it was not in crease for the bus tours that we there .over all we were happy with the hotel and the view
The attention to detail in decor and service.
We decide to stop here on the way back from the isle of Mull rally and after 3 nights in a converted campervan I needed some luxury and what an absolutely stunning location, I opted for the room with balcony and views over loch fyne weather unfortunately meant we didn't use balcony but stunning never the less, food great and staff very friendly and attentive.
Views leisure centre, pool was brilliant , staff were very helpful can't fault them
We just loved Tregortha! There was nothing we did not like. The whole place was immaculate. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast should be an example to other establishments
This was our 2nd time at this lodge. We loved every minute of it ❤️. Clean and comfortable. Beautiful surroundings on the door step. Lots of lovely walks. My husband who's a photographer had a blast. Highly recommend this fantastic place
