Fantastic room with rustic style wooden furniture that gave it a charm in keeping with the age of the Inn.

We always go on Valentines weekend and it is never too busy, it can actually feel very exclusive in this regard. The fantastic spa completes the experience
Excellent breakfasts, lovely staff and perfect location!
On my arrival I was greeted at reception by mother and daughter and made to feel immensely welcome. Second, this Georgian big country squire’s house was built around the very time that the country I come from was first visited by a Europeans. As our architecture is overwhelmingly Victorian era and later, to simply enjoy being in such a stunning example with its large rooms, big windows; it’s very pleasant hominess — but on a grander scale; that of the country gent — was to me, a very great pleasure. In addition to this, the manor was situated in its own leafy garden with mature trees and a view out over the valley, while the town of Alston had a myriad number of little seventeenth century pubs, that were, like the town itself, absolutely charming. What a wonderful find this was. I couldn’t have been happier.
There are many things to like about staying at The Teesdale: the relaxed, authentic ambience and pleasant staff; the quality of food served in the restaurant, there was parking on site and there were a variety of inside and outside places to relax outside of one's room. The hotel was well located for staying for several days. There were walks and many places to visit nearby and further afield. I enjoyed my stay.
Charming castle stay with buckets of character. Kids thought it was very magical. Well catered for, friendly staff. Self contained apartment “little castle” was very well appointed.
Great location next to the train station and bus stop, and city center a short walk away. Great for both experiencing Hexham and going on trips to the sites at Hadrian's Wall. Very friendly and accommodating staff, quiet room that was comfortable, good size, with a bathroom as well. Bed was comfortable and overall there was everything I needed.
This is a challenge to answer. The Scotch Arms is a lovely 1600s building(s) that was incredibly well restored. (My partner is an architect, and he said the owners spared no expense in the restoration.) It was a delight to be in such a beautiful treasure of a B&B. The question is difficult to answer because complimenting the wonderful physical establishment is, Dianne, the warm, friendly and knowledgeable owner/host. She gives everyone a warm welcome. On this trip we are staying at 7 hotels/B&Bs, and the Scotch Arms stays in our minds as one of the best on this 20 day trip.
Great location for a nearby wedding, really friendly staff and a homely, lovely room.
Excellent history Owner onsite with friendly attitude Must visit

Wi-Fi was super fast. Did I mention Hadrian’s wall and Sycamore Gap are basically across the street!! :) We will be back!
