Hotel in Resolis
Located on the Black Isle in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, Newhall Mains is a collection of cottages, set within a courtyard building dating from 18th century. We were a family of 6 and I can't stress enough just how beautiful the whole estate is. The lodge we were in has been tastefully and carefully restored perfectly. Thee living room is built around a log burner that felt extra cosy in the cold winter night! The beds were comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean and the kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, glasses, pots etc. I'd certainly recommend New Hall Main to anybody looking for a slice of luxury, in a gorgeous part of the world.

Excellent base for exploring the Northern Highlands. Excellent value for money. At this price in this location the only cheaper options are hostel or bunkhouse dormitory beds. Very friendly reception staff at check in and check out. For sure the room looked a bit dated but it was warm, comfortable and everything worked fine - couldn't ask for more at £40 a night.

Room was good, Staff were very friendly.
Such a unique and pleasurable experience along with a fantastic dining experience!
Lovely location, heritage facility with modern amenities. Great breakfast!
We really liked the location and the decor of the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful especially the lady in the reception who understood the difficult situation we were in and couldn’t do enough to help us sort out our issue. She made sure that even when my mum did not speak a word English she will have everything she needs while we had to leave for couple hours. She also sorted out accommodation for us for another two nights, which was absolutely lovely with breathtaking views. The bartender from bar next to reception was also super helpful and sorted out dinner for us without previous reservation. He was polite, joking with our son and making sure that we have everything we need, which just added personal touch to the whole experience. We recommend the hotel anyone who is looking for excellent service, nice, cosy and elegant hotel, great food and lovely views. We will definitely come back here.
Staff couldn’t be more helpful especially Kayleigh, Molly and older gentleman. Didn’t get any others names.
Picturesque location with plenty of hiking and outdoor opportunities in the area. The dining was phenomenal - even the takeaway options were made with care. We hope to return before long!
Wow what a building and the scenery made for a great stay. We had tarmac to stand my motorcycle on and I could see it from my window so relaxed instantly
this is a beautiful property and didnt disappoint, the room was clean and tidy and the restaurant was an added bonus with wonderful food my favourite meal was the scollops so delisious, the staff were very helpful and the falconary demonstration was awesome, would highly recommend this property.
It was a perfect location for visiting John O Groats. We went during our NC500 trip and was such an easy stop. Not much around, but the restaurant in the hotel is good. There is a great petting farm next to the hotel, and plenty of sheep running in the fields around! The bed was comfortable, and the staff was very helpful and kind. Would recommend!
This was the second time we stayed here after our last visit four years ago and it felt like coming home! We enjoyed the restaurant twice and were happy eaters both times. Ullapool itself is really worth while staying (beautiful bookshops and art galleries), the seafood shack deserves all praise, drinking a coffee or a beer alongside the water makes you feeling good!.
Great location for easy road access for touring, with plenty of parking, and for walking into Ullapool for dinner. Room was cosy but beautifully presented. Great breakfast, pleasant staff and owner. The welcome dram was a lovely touch.
The owners were extremely kind and there was so much fun to sleep in the big barrel! Croissants in the breakfast basket were so delicious.
