We even had a view (from the walkway in front of the room) on the river and the NP behind. All facilities are close by. I don't want to put it in the "negative" category, but please do not expect luxury, comfort etc. The room was clean, the bed OK, and we had some power issues during the course of our stay. And it was exactly what we expected. We have talked to other visitors staying in other places and we seemed to be very lucky about everything.

It seems daunting on the map but it is very simple once you get to Kuala Tahan. You need cash for things outside the Mutiara Resort to make life easy with the boats. The resort itself is spectacular and brilliant value for money for where it is. You don’t need a guide for the close walks but if you are nervous then it might be easier to do that. The breakfast served was salad with 2 sandwiched with egg and beans. The resort was located in a village with friendly people. It's great for people who want to escape the city to just relax.

There are various trails that start from the resort and can be explored independently. The resort also offers activities, although we did not try it. The staff is helpful and friendly. Food at Seri Mutiara restaurant is okay. There is a clinic at Kuala Tahan across the river. There is a trolley to bring the luggage up from the jetty to the resort.UshaFamily with young children

Great location for accessing tours or individual hiking. Excellent, high quality local food served at dinner and lunch. Monkeys and lizards come into the resort. On the swamp path we saw monkeys and a millipede. Multiple possibilities for access to the rainforest. Boat trip across from jetty is cute and enjoyable access point to hotel. We also really enjoyed both the day and night boat tours.

The activities offered were superb too. We enjoyed our short trip to Taman Negara. We chose this resort because of the all-inclusive concept, all meals and they offer activities too. The location in the middle of the forest was a special experience. We were transported in an open back 4x4 to the resort. It is not for the faint hearted though.
