Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe boarding pass issue delayed my checkin by 2 hour from 1am to 3am even though the front desk really tried! Also, the cost was 20%+ higher than Booking.com indicated! Good overall, but checkin was a disaster as I could have gone outside and gotten 6 hours of sleep vs. 4 hours, which I really needed!
The extra effort by the staff to help with a major issue on a boarding pass

Sri LankaI think that the price was a bit high for the room for just a 12 hour booking. There were hotel options outside of the airport where you can get a full day’s stay for much cheaper.
Overall a very comfortable stay and friendly staff!

IndiaThe bathroom shower doesn't have a door, hence you can't take a shower without the entire bathroom getting completely wet. Quite difficult to use after that. The room also didn't have a mirror except for in the bathroom.
Conveniently located inside the transit area. really nice and efficient staff. Decent amenities and space.

Australia$220AUD for just a bed, a TV that isn't connected online and no windows (and thus no fresh air) for a maximum of 12 hours was difficult to stomach - was expecting half the price.
Ideally located within Zayed International, this is perfect for those uncomfortable lay overs that don't warrant leaving the terminal. Mine was a 15hr wait, and even with lounge access, doing this without a bed to rest up in would've been a challenge.

SpainHard to find The shower has no curtain and the water spills everywhere. Only a couple of electricity sockets. Expensive considering you can only stay for 12 hours.
The convenience, it's inside the airport, in the area where the gates are so, no need to pass security again. You can check in at any time. I would stay again here

United StatesTiny Room!!!! Expensive Price!! The room was VERY small and paid $200USD for 8 hrs. which I find expensive! You MUST have a boarding pass to stay at this hotel which I didn't know before. I fly standby and don't get issued boarding passes which was a problem. Also, I was going to leave the hotel and they advised me if you are standby if you leave the airport, they will not let you back in until 1 hr before your flight so the amount paid on the room would be wasted.
Location.

AustraliaCheck-in experience could've been better. There was only one staff at the reception desk and the number of guests was more. Standard room size is a bit small, could've been a little bigger.
Located inside the terminal, the hotel is at a very convenient spot. Room had everything required for a short term stay at the airport.

AustraliaNo hot water for the shower. We ran the tap for 10mins as suggested by staff( an obscene waste of water) then the bathroom flooded because of plumbing and no fall in the floor tiles. We were unable to turn the TV or air-conditioning on and there was no guide for either in the room
The concept of the hotel within the terminal. The room was nice and welcoming

United StatesRooms were extremely small and limited room service. It felt a little claustrophobic due to the lack of windows and the size of the room.
Incredible location. Right in Abu Dhabi's Transfer Area. It allowed me to sleep a couple more hours and not have to worry about security or arriving 3 hours earlier.

IsraelIt was unclear how to control the thermostat, which was set to 18 degrees celsius when we entered the room and therefore was chilly all night. The shower, when left on, flooded the bathroom a bit, but when we opened the drain the floor emptied of the water. It didn't get into the room itself.
The room was comfortable and well-lit. The bathroom is equipped with all our needs, and the bed was wonderful.

CanadaThe air conditioning system did not work at all. We selected 22°C on the thermostat. When we woke up in the morning, the temperature in the room was 15°C. We told the staff about it, and they were very understanding and said they would fix. The staff was very good. Personally, I don't believe this was a problem with the AC. I think that it by design and on purpose from the hotel. I travel a lot for my work and notice a tread with hotels removing control of the thermostat from the guest without telling them. In many hotels, the thermostat seems to work at first sight, but when you play with it, you find out you have no control at all. This is wrong and I really hope this was really a problem with the system.
The location of this hotel was the main reason of our choice. We wanted to stay on secured side of the terminal so we could get more rest before our flight. The room was very clean and the staff was amazing.

MalaysiaThe bathroom really needs improvement - would need an exhaust fan and a divider between the shower and the rest of the bathroom. The price could be more attractive and made more affordable.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Fast and easy check-in. The location is superb which is in the airside and very convenient for travellers who are transferring with options either 6, 12 or 24 hrs stay.

CanadaWashroom gets flooded when you take a shower. They must solve this issue.
Very conveniently located inside the airport. The hotel is in the transit/airside area so no need to go through immigration. Just keep following signs to the transfers area, pass the transfers area/security check, go down and then go towards the right-hand side. and the hotel reception is in the same area where the Etihad lounges are.
