Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesBought an upgrade to Fairmont gold. However, the room that we got is not a sea view. The first receptionist that assisted us didn’t informed us that our request for an upgrade was approved. Never received a call if our room is already available. We just learned that we got upgraded to gold when we asked if our room is now available and informed us that our request was approved. Not a nice experience from that lady who first assisted us. Thank you to the filipina who informed and explained the benefits of being a gold guest.
The location.

United KingdomHalf board option wasn't the best. No drinks included, and many of the "better" restaurants you had to pay a supplement to either just eat there or pay a supplement to have different options on what was a fairly limited menus. We ended up having later breakfasts and then eating out somewhere where you had much better options. Rooms were very clean but a little dated, bathroom sink and bath plug didn't work (asked to be fixed but never was). The AC wasn't the most powerfull either and never got down to 20degs which we had it set at at night. Good turn down service where they provide you with more water for the night.
Hotel staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The breakfasts were incredible, everything you could possibly think of or want.

Saudi ArabiaThe outside facilities were very good. However the beach had very poor sand and on either side of the beach area were beach clubs who's music was played at such a high volume that it spoiled the quiet relaxation. Because of this we were forced to retire to the adult pool which was enjoyable but not as pleasant as spending time on the beach.
Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and exceptionally clean. House keeping staff were particularly dilligent in their duties. Restaurants were good. The Asian and Indian restaurants were outstanding. The food was of a very high standard. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay.

ColombiaIn overall terms everything is ok, but some aspects to review and improve: 1. More options on the breakfast. 2. Noisy club in front of the swimming pools. 3. The Ice cream counter captures your attention with the flavors available, but the taste is not what you expect. 4. The bed was good, but the mattress was very soft, killing our backs and the same happened with the pillows. 5. There are many activities available, but nothing you can check easily, probably a big screen to check the activities and booking will be good.
The location and facilities for kids are really good

United KingdomDon’t go in school hols unless you have children. Even then family pool and outside space not big enough for a full hotel. Adult only pool busy too. Resorted to putting towels on sunbeds around pool 7.30 am. Gave up and went to beach which again not enough space when full. It emptied out after a few days and was better but still the sunbed run. Do not expect this at this type of hotel.
Breakfast in gold lounge good. Less choice than main restaurant but that was very busy with queue as school hols. All restaurants excellent and staff outstanding. Shopping mall 10 mins walk away.

CroatiaThe Boldly Asian restaurant, below than average food mixed with a disaster service. We were half board clients of the hotel and we felt like we are a low class client of the restaurant
Location, facilities, staff everything was perfect, the Seagrill bistro and Little Miss India are both wonderful amendments of the hotel- unlike the Boldly Asian
