The place was near the end/start of track. Family run place, super friendly, commutation was easy and welcoming. Outdoor space was great to relax and calm. Their restaurant was amazing, the food was delicious. As well as a nice breakfast.

The only thing to note is that our shower door was broken, and couldn't close entirely, which made it kind of annoying to take a shower. The heating did not work in our room, but it wasn't a problem for us as it wasn't too cold yet and we didn't really need it.

The property is located in a beautiful spot in the Theth valley. The rooms seem to have been either built or renovated recently, and they are in good shape, and have a good, comfortable size. The beds were comfy also. They have a restaurant on location, which is really good, we tried a few different things, but their stuffed eggplant was the highlight (we are even going to try to recreate it at home!). The staff is very friendly, and the views are wonderful!

Villa Gjecaj was extra-ordinary. Certainly, there are more guesthouses in the closer surrounding providing a similar standard, but the mixture of good rooms, incredibly friendly and open-minded staff, restraurant quality and cosy outside area make this experience unique. Gjecaj will always be my "base" when travelling to Theth - that's for sure! An additional service, one should not under-estimate: The owner is greatly connected in the region and provides you with her Whatsapp-contact in case, you might need support on the Peaks-trek. This is extremely valuable!!!

This a a beautiful guest house, full of character. The views out of the window are amazing and breakfast was great, plenty to choose from. People running the place are super friendly . I would come back.

Quite thin walls/floors - we could hear a lot of noise from our downstairs neighbours...but maybe they were particularly noisy! There isn't a separate reception area so when you arrive from your hike to check in, you have to wait outside (in our case, in the pouring rain!) for your reservation to be checked; maybe something worth considering during any future renovations.

Most importantly - the "right" end of Theth for arriving on the Valbone-Theth trail! Some of the other guesthouses would definitely add another 30 minutes. Lots of animals wandering around and absolutely stunning views from the room at the top of the house. Nice warm radiators in the rooms. We enjoyed sitting in the indoor and outdoor communal areas having a beer after our walks, and dinner in the evenings was lovely (make sure you try the byrek and the lamb) and (unusually) there was an actual menu! The hosts speak perfect English which was so helpful for getting across nuances of decisions we needed to make around transport etc. They also organised a private transfer directly to Tirana airport (€140) which I wasn't sure was going to be possible because it's quite far - but it meant we could stay an extra night in the mountains which was amazing.

Comfortable guesthouse after a long hike! Friendly staff and an inviting and welcoming restaurant area! Food is freshly prepared. Magnificent mountain view from our balcony! On top of that the Theth - Valbone hike starts just around the corner.

In the restaurant, I do need to note that the chicken we ordered was very dry. But all the other food, including breakfast, was amazing and very good value!

I stayed here for my birthday and they organized the sweetest birthday surprise in the restaurant for dinner by making a cake and singing for me, after my boyfriend requested it via Instagram. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the garden space is a glorious place for breakfast. Some of the best lamb we had!
