How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The facilities are pretty dated and very basic.
Super location, staff were really helpful and lovely! They hosted family dinners the nights we were there which was a super fun way to meet others traveling. Also had bikes for hire and a really nice little beer garden

I appreciate this hostel for doing all the work in planning my backpacking trip from Valbonë to Theth. They helped me book and plan my trip as soon as I got to the hostel. I was able to leave my things as I was on my excursion in Theth. Also the workers and volunteers here are SO HELPFUL! and kind. anything questions you have they are happy to answer and help you out. Facilities are clean and beds are comfortable. It also helps that the sleeping quarters are away from the common area so you can get a good night rest. 10/10 recommend. This is the place to stay if you are planning a trip to Shkodër to do the Valbonë Theth hike. Not to mention, they also have laundry at a very reasonable price! Breakfast included and 3€ for a very delicious dinner. Can’t beat it!

It could be made clearer on the street where you can check in.
There is a good vibe in the common area. There is a lot of choice for breakfast and it is good that they can arrange trips to Valbona and Theth for you and that you can rent a bike to explore Shkoder.

Wanderers Hostel was perfect! The staff were extremely helpful with arranging everything for our hike from Valbone to Theth, even organizing a group of 17 of us to split the cost of a guide as there was still a small amount of snow at the top. The dinners were incredible value at 3 EUR, drinks were cheap and Rakia was free after 8pm. The vibe was great as well and the location was perfect too.

Only thing I would suggest is that some of the rooms are a but cramped. 2 big chairs in there which are not really needed, which means less space for 6 backpacks when the room is full
Staff make the hostel, extremely helpful and will give you lots of info on getting to valbone and theth. Good food on some nights of the week and great value for money. Beds were comfortable. Good location

One of the shared bathrooms needed cleaning.
They arranged everything for the Valbone-Theth hike very smoothly and efficiently. It's in a good location, close to the centre and walking distance from pubs and restaurants. They had a Mexican dinner night at the hostel and was fun to meet other travellers this way.

Dorms have a lock opened by a rfid card. If you go to the toilet at night and forget your key, you get locked out of your dorm... And as the reception is on the other side of the street, it's not a fun situation to be in. A code would make more sense.

Super friendly staff, ready to help you with anything Perfect location, and great evening dinner. The place is very cosy and I like the fact that the bar/common room is separated from the building where the dorms are located, allowing for more tranquility. They are also very happy to help you organise a transfer & accommodation to your next destination!

A warm welcoming by the staff with all the advice necesary to take the feeling with the city and get adress to organize the trip for Valbonë and Teth. Very generous breakfast and each evening a theme party. I recommand warmly

You do hear noise from the street in the rooms but I sleep with headphones so this was not an issue for me.
The location was perfect and the staff were incredibly helpful with anything you needed. One of the best value for money places I have ever been.

Centrally located hostel with probably the friendliest team of staff I’ve ever encountered! Really lovely atmosphere making it easy to meet other travellers at the dinner each evening and very affordable drinks at the bar. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in 😊
