Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOnly negative…the rooms get quite warm which may have been a result of the incredible weather we had with the sunshine streaming in! We slept with the window open and that cooled it right down. The walls are also a bit thin so you can hear anyone in the hall and next door to you. We play white noise when we sleep so that helped a lot.
This hotel has amazing views. I dont think any other place in El Chalten would be able to match them. Not only did we love seeing the beautiful mountains from our room, but from the restaurant and relaxing room by the bar where we played games each night. Hotel staff was amazing, especially Mariano in Reception. We had some issues with the property we were going to be visitor after we left El Chalten and he went above and beyond to help us. The spa was great. You need to make a reservation which was never an issue and again the view from the hot tub was amazing. We also enjoyed a lovely massage. There were free snacks, fruit and drinks available throughout the morning and afternoon. Breakfast was yummy with several options. In addition to the buffet, you can order eggs, omelettes or ham and cheese croissants. We loved that they started serving early at 0630 so we could eat before hitting the trails. Another bonus….they provide a local guy that comes each night to answer any questions regarding trails, weather etc….super helpful!

United KingdomThe view was stunning, facilities excellent and staff were super. I had booked for a 3-night stay but the strike in Buenos Aires meant my flight and 1st night stay had to be cancelled. The owner graciously refunded me for that night without me having to ask. Will return again if I come back to Patagonia.

AustraliaIf you have mobility issues, ask for a ground room floor, as there is no lift.
The hilltop location and floor to ceiling windows give endless stunning views (especially from the valley view rooms). High vaulted wooden ceilings and stone fireplaces have loads of charm. Plenty of comfortable lounging areas, with books and games. Restaurant food is delicious and well-presented (although the variety is not extensive if you are there for many days). The spa, sauna and massage facilities are very welcome after a day’s trekking. Bedrooms are large and tastefully furnished. There is always free fruit, nibbles and soft drinks available in the foyer. The staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful. It is an absolute gem of a hotel.

IrelandLimited seats in the bar area but we did not experience any difficulty getting a seat. The jacuzzi area could do with some refurbishment as it is a bit worn.
Very helpful staff, in particular at check in and the hiking guide who was available with excellent suggestions each evening. Our trip was even more enjoyable due to some of the hiking recommendations. The view of the valley from the bar and restaurant is stunning and the hotel has one of the best locations for views in El Chalten. Breakfast had a nice selection, we particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit each morning. The jacuzzi area was a nice addition. Beds were very comfortable.

United KingdomToo many big American tour groups. Pricing was this was definitely quite expensive at over US$300 per night. Spa is very small so when we went for a massage we were deafened by a group of frat boys using the spa and sauna and basically shouting at each other.
The staff here were incredibly helpful with all of our enquiries - they did the hotel proud. Christmas Eve dinner was a really nice occasion and it was a pleasure to celebrate it here. The views from our room were incredible, so it was a good choice to pay the extra for this. Restaurant and breakfast generally were very good.

United StatesUnlike every other hotel on our two weeks in Argentina, the hotel didn't charge the rate in pesos at the official rate of about 360 to the dollar at the time, but at the MEP rate for tourists (more than double) which meant that we got no discount from the stated dollar price of about $250 per night when the charge was put on our credit card using the MEP conversion rate. Elsewhere we received about a 60% discount from the stated dollar rate when using a visa or mastercard (American Express didn't negotiate the same deal), which made hotels in Argentina a great deal. Unfortunately for foreigners that bargain mostly went away on December 13 when Milei doubled the official rate to align closer to the MEP and blue rates which now exceeded 1000 pesos to the $.
Probably the best hotel in town, located on a promontory above the town with a great view up the valley. Breakfast selection was good, and lunch and dinner were good with reasonable prices by US standards. Bar was usually open. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a great room on the second floor available for lounging around on a rainy day. Parking was easy albeit on a rock lot, as much of the town is still pretty raw with gravel roads. The town itself is filled with backpacker types and is unusually quirky in a good way. We were told the town shuts down from April thru September.

United StatesNothing much to note. Since the property sits atop a hill you do need to walk up an unpaved street if you have accessibility issues that might be a problem. Considering most everyone is hiking I wouldn’t expect walking uphill a bit to be much of a problem.
The property is centrally located and sits atop a hill giving it great views of the town and mountains. The room was very comfortable, if it got to warm you could open windows to cool down easily. Their restaurant was fantastic we ate there multiple times. There was also a lounge area with sofas, tables to sit at and play board games which they had available. Also lots of literature if you wanted something to read. Stag was always available and very helpful. They even had someone available if you had any questions about hikes in the area.
