How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We only had some difficulties to contact our host on arrival and departure but we manage to deal with. You must be careful with the beds in the sleeping area, the ceiling is low but for us this was not a problem.
A great place to stay. Extremely clean and very comfortable flat with absolutely everything you may need and lovely design. Great bathroom and kitchen facilities as well with very comfortable beds. Absolutely perfect for a stay in the beautiful city of Vienna. The flat is close to the city centre, with very convenient transport – U4 metro and tram D are very close. Spar and Billa shops are also quite close for a daily shopping.

Vienna is expensive!
Very clean, excellent facilities, spacious and in a lovely part of the city, only a short walk into the centre of the city, plus a metro stop just around the corner. Also a Billa Supermarket on hand. Also, they accommodated our earlier arrival without any hassle or cost.

We liked everything.
Apartment very well located, fully equipped and beautifully decorated. Theresa, the owner, was very kind and clarified all our doubts. If we return to Vienna, we will try to stay there again.

Ceilings are low at the sleeping are so it's something to consider if you are a taller person.
Perfect location: metro is nearby, `1.5km to historical Vienna center, shops and bars also not far away. The apartment itself has everything you need to cook, sleep, wash dishes amd clothes. It's very cosy with thoughtful interior choices. Highly recommend for couples or small group of friends. The owner is friendly and helpful.

Curtains in the bedroom (not dark and big enough to block the light).
The place is spotless and spacious. The bathroom has a nice walk-in shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils and basic things like olive oil, balsamico, salt, and pepper. You can also leave your luggage (Conciergerie service). Merci Marie-Thérèse!

It could be a bit warmer in the apartment.
Convenient location, good metro connection with parking garage P+R Spittelau, walking distance to the city center. The apartment is beautifully and originally decorated, with everything you might need. Hosts are very nice and responding.

The toilet was very cold (not sure if I didn’t press a button), and the ceiling for the beds was slightly low. But these were minor inconveniences – we still enjoyed the stay.
It was very cosy and comfortable! It had adequate facilities, and was well-heated.

Our stay at the apartment was beyond expectations. It was located in a quiet district but the subway was just around the corner. The room was very clean, beautifully decorated and fully equipped. The owner and her daughter were really helpful and kind and made our stay in Vienna even better. We will definitely come back.

Slightly low ceiling in the bedroom was the only minor thing, but otherwise a fab place.
Really lovely apartment, nice quiet residential area, near the metro or a 20mins walk into the old town. Marie-Terese was so helpful with what to do and where to go. Perfect for the weekend break
