Our stay at Almanac was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly. They were able to check us into our room early upon our arrival which was much appreciated after our long flight. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel was in a wonderful location - close to everything we wanted to do. I would highly recommend staying here.

Sadly - a couple of glitches - getting the lights to work was difficult - all on a panel, the technology was just a little confusing. Also, a couple of days running, the cleaning people took our coffee cups and glasses away to wash and didn't return them and it took awhile to retrieve - but they were very nice about it.

The staff were excellent - we were very well looked after. A special thank you to both Malena at reception and Denzil at concierge - both went out of their way to help us. Helena at the bar was also lovely.

Being extremely "picky": (1) additional full length mirror in the bedroom would have been helpful (2) common areas possibly too hot (!) (3) bed was too wide (!!). These are obviously all small points that didn't in any way spoil our stay.

The Almanac proved the perfect place for us to explore beautiful Vienna. Everywhere within walking distance and next to the park for runs etc. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. All the facilities were high quality. Transfer arrangements were straightforward and extremely pleasant. Breakfast was fab and the concierge made good recommendations for other places to visit / eat / drink.

Very nice breakfast. Swimming pool and spa area were really lovely and great to use at the start or end of the day. Hotel is in a good location. We were upgraded to a suite which was fab and much appreciated. All staff without exception were very warm and friendly.

Breakfast choices were kind of poor for a 5star hotel in Vienna. Parking is extremely expensive. The toilet overlooking the street with a huge, clean-glass street window is really weird, had to change the room. Too much hightech electricity however not convenient or practical e.g. cannot shade just the toilet window, only together with the bedroom.

Staff was very helpful and kind, arranged the necessary room change professionally. Location is on Ring, so it is convenient. Nice complimentary birthday cake was presented, though it was my husband's birthday, they addressed it to me in particular.😆

We were "upgraded" to a suite. The suite was very nice but beware that the rooms on the upper floors have low ceilings since this a converted private residence. Bathroom was well laid out. Bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was generous and excellent. Access to the indoor pool is a little convoluted but worth finding.

Service was a bit awkward, maybe the hotel is too new. First arrived to the hotel and nobody came to help me with the luggage. Called hotel for luggage assistance at checkout but no one picked up the phone.

The only constructive criticism I would give is that the restaurant operation could be run a bit tighter - breakfast food and options were excellent, but service a little slow and disorganised. I'm sure that this will get resolved given the hotel is still quite new.

I booked the Almanac as part of a weekend where I proposed to my girlfriend and I let the team at the Almanac know in advance. They helped me plan a romantic surprise in the room while we were out and made everything incredibly special. Thank you especially to Marcel and Max. The rooms are beautiful, with fantastic detailing and views over the park. Location is fantastic to walk around Vienna. Truly excellent.

There was a big difference between the team on breakfast duty and the rest of the staff at the hotel. This team was younger and less experienced and seemed really out of their depth, struggling to provide a meaningful service to a mostly empty breakfast room. Disputes between team members, requests forgotten about and long delays were not good signs. It improved a little on the second day.

The welcome when we arrived was fantastic. We had advised the hotel before arriving that it was a special occasion and the reception staff knew all about it, and they pulled out all the stops. The friendliness, politeness and warmth of the team was beyond expectations. The complimentary bubbly and rose petals were a lovely touch. Our room on the 9th floor was outstanding, with the view from the WC a particular treat! the facilities were all thoughtfully presented, and the vegan food was imaginative and plentiful. Our Sommelier Daniel deserves a special mention for a tour around Austrian wine at our table.
