Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BulgariaEverything was perfect! Location, staff, food. This hotel is a perfect place! It is difficult to find something better than this hotel, we think. All depends from the hospitality of the whole staf there.
Excellent location, super food on breakfast. Extremely polite staff, very warm accommodating, everything was clean and beautifully. Internet is like a flash! We will come back again! Thanks a lot, Hotel am Dom.

United StatesI don't have any complaints or recommendations for improvement.
Boutiquehotel am Dom is a hidden gem in a perfect quaint location. We were a 10-20-minute walk from all of our destination spots (some were found by accident). The owners greeted us with a smile every time we walked in and always willing to help us with our questions. Even our initial electronic communications prior to arrival, were prompt and clear including directions, maps, expectations, etc. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious including fresh eggs made to order; a great way to start the day. The room was clean and quiet; you would never know they were fully booked. We would totally recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

NigeriaOnce I reported that the tv remote control didn’t work properly they were quick to resolve it.
I flew in from West Africa for my first visit to Austria and my daughter chose & made all arrangements so I hadn’t a clue. The hotel is tucked into a quiet cul de sac, within walking distance of everywhere interesting. I slept like a log in a comfy bed (it wasn’t stuffy) literally beneath a tree (love the ceiling beams). Brigitte & the entire team were very welcoming & helpful: for everything (directions, adaptor, restaurants etc). Don’t miss breakfast - a great selection & value for money. I came to Salzburg for the Sound of Music tour but I’d come again just for the hotel.

AustraliaThe location, room and staff were faultless. The hotel has only 12 rooms and is located right in the middle of the most chic area of Salzburg, with great restaurants, cafes and shops right on the doorstep. We were there for New Years and the Christmas markets were still operating in the square less than 100m away. We had 2 rooms and our kids were comfortable (and happy!) to have their own room on a separate floor as the hotel felt very safe and secure. The rooms were well appointed, and the bathrooms particularly stylish and clean. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It is a great place to stay.

United StatesI cannot think of anything that we didn’t like. It was perfect.
If you are traveling to see the Christmas markets this hotel is directly off the square and steps down a picturesque lane. They were so welcoming and it was so comfortable we just loved it. It was spotless and I wish we would’ve been staying longer.

The breakfast was delicious with eggs made to order, fresh fruit, fresh breads, and delicious cake. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed that had especially nice pillows and linens. IrelandNo tea and coffee in rooms, also very hot in the room - no way to cool it down except to open the windows. Also would be nice to know what is on the kitchen menu for breakfast. Mostly continental breakfast available and eggs!! Basic but ok.
Fantastic location for the markets. great city to walk around. 23-24 minute walk from the train station. Comfy rooms, clean and nicely decorated. Very friendly staff. Safe in room. They give you some complimentary postcards and you just have to pay postage. would stay here again.

United StatesBest location in old town, just 5 minutes walk to the Dom, St. Peter’s Abbey, the funicular, Mozart’s house. The interior decor is very thoughtful and modern yet elegant. Saima and Britta are brilliant innkeepers who will take care of every detail to make your Salzburg stay most memorable. This boutique hotel is on a famous cobblestone street in the heart of old town. We took a taxi from the train station and it was 12.40 euros by meter—though the hotel is in a pedestrian zone, taxis can drive in. There are restaurants, cafes, bakeries, Mozart chocolate shops galore. If you need a break from Austrian cuisine, try Do Do’s around the corner for noodle soups or curry. You know how you get that “weak security” message when you sign into most hotel’s wifi? Not here—this hotel uses Apple wifi. Even though the Dom church is just a few steps away, don’t worry about losing sleep when the bells ring out because the double windows make the room completely soundproof. If you are going to Salzburg to see the historical sights, don’t even think twice about it—just book this hotel and enjoy your visit!
