How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room got super hot so we had to have the window full open to sleep which in turn got the road noise. Could do with a fan for warmer nights
Great value. 10-15 mins walk from the old town. Bed was comfy, modern bathroom. Loved the free coffee and the breakfast rolls left on your door

It was a very small room, with 2 very small single beds, but good enough for the 1 night we were there.
The room was very clean and felt new. The morning pastries on the door were a lovely touch

We had an attic room with low ceiling on half of the room which i didn't expect, it should have been pointed in advance

Was quite noisy could hear doors shutting
Close to the train station cheaper than most hotels coffee and water provided was nice was kept clean

Did not get hot water on the day we were checking out
The room was comfortable n the location is very nice close to the busy stand n old town is walkable Every morning got the Austrian/ German breads left at our door There was a coffee machine so we could have coffee anytime

The wifi signal on the ground floor is very poor. Had to get out of the room to connect and then come back. However, once connected, it's working.
Clean, calm hotel with a public transport stop next corner. There are also a few grocery shops like Billa & Lidl nearby. Pubs and bars are 1 km away, walking distance. Despite it's self-check in (no reception), there's a free coffee machine on the first floor.

The room was SO hot and we couldn’t control the temperature. Uncomfortably hot. Cleanliness was a bit lacking, particularly in the bathroom. Internet was very spotty. Smart TV wasn’t up to date so we couldn’t connect to Netflix etc. It would be nice to have a staff person on hand, even for a couple hours a day. We didn’t have anyone to ask any questions we might have had. But these were not major issues (the temperature was the most challenging). I would stay there again!
Cute, not too big, close to old town but not right in the busy area. Loved the baked goods left outside our door in the morning!

The rooms were a bit small and got too hot with the heating, so I turned it off. Could do with more firm pillows.

On our second night the number code door lock would not open. The phone contact line had a recorded message, we had no idea if our e-mails got through, and it was only when we pressed the door intercom (which was not mentioned in the arrival instructions) that we made contact with a staff member who came and replaced the lock battery. Being unable to get in for 45 minutes was frustrating and inconvenient; luckily it was nothing more. If the hotel wants to run with no staff on the premises, the automated systems need to be reliable!
Well laid out room, very comfortable bed, opening windows, quiet and convenient location. The fresh rolls each morning were a nice touch.

Shower rail fell down, but I think that had happened before and been replaced. Not a big problem.
Bagel outside door on first morning lovely to find and enjoy. Coffee making facilities on first floor also good.

A little noisy at night with window open.
We were surprised by a welcome gift and a morning departure gift - such a special treat. Plug ins on either side of bed is a bonus.

Was lacking a couple of plates and some basic cutlery, which would have been useful for snacking. Small bar fridge would be great. Pedestal fan really needed during the summer months. We were there at a particularly hot time and the room was oppressive.
Clean, renovated well. Nice touch with the Nescafé bar and morning pretzels.

The pillows were very thin and we found them uncomfortable.
It was clean and in a good, quiet location. A fan was provided which kept the room comfortable. Two lovely pretzels were awaiting us in the morning and a coffee maker was available for our use.
