How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Location was further out than expected, close to the Hauptbahnhof, with easy access to train connections. Felt breakfast was expensive for the value.
Quiet, clean and basic rooms where we were able to rest and relax between sight seeing. It was quite hot during our trip and the air conditioning was wonderful to come back to.

On two different occasions we had someone open our door to our room whilst we were in there which was odd, and all the time we were there our room didn't get serviced, this may have just been due to timings we were in and out of the room
The hotel was very new and very clean, and the location was great right near the train station and near the light rail also

Nothing much - only minor comments - would be nice if it was that tad closer to the station - but given the cheaper price compared to hotels closer to the station - still ot be recommanded.
Not too far from the station with a pleasent, safe walk to and from. Efficient staff and easy check-in and out. Clean hotel and comfortable beds. Easy recommandtion when looking for something close to the station.

What I didn’t like was the price that did not match the location. There was a “Billa” supermarket nearby, about a block away, and another “Hofer”. But that’s it.
I liked that Housekeeping was done properly everyday. And the space of the room was sufficient.

The small size of the room; the breakfast offerings and facilities.
We liked the proximity to the central train station. The location was quiet (a new neighborhood). The room was comfortable, although very small.

No water kettle, but it could be in Vienna you can get hot water from the tap directly

The breakfast could have more options. It was the same every day. There was no ice machine or iron for the guest. It was not a hotel for business travelers.
The location was convenient, safe and the room was clean and quiet.

The only thing I was missing was a kettle, I know there was a vending machine downstairs but I do love making black tea, the machine only had fruit. But that's nitpicking, the hotel is great honestly.
Great hotel some 10 minutes walk away from Train Station, about 2 minutes away from the nearest tram stop that goes directly to the city centre. Easy check-in, great staff and clean comfortable room. The room was very pretty and a good size as well.

Our room was on the street side and it was loud during night. It is only a pedestrian street where no vehicles are allowed but still it is quite loud by people walking and talking on the street

Bed was on the small size (room had three beds, probably twin size), though this is from my perspective (6' 4", 1.94m). Found that the comforter/duvet was short for my liking, though worm and pleasant.
Was steps away from the central station (Wien Hbf), close to public transport (tram line D, and underground line U1), very easy to reach Vienna tourist attractions. Quiet neighborhood, great for resting after a busy day. Decent breakfast selection, better than most US/Canadian hotels.
