Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThere's no staff, no check in, there are 10 beds and one bathroom (one more downstairs in the laundry room but it's freezing) The beds are comfortable, there's good water in the shower but it's a tiny tiny hostel, on the outskirts of Innsbruck
Very cheap, not much more food about this

CroatiaThe only staff member I saw, a cleaner, kept putting my luggage with someone else's. Communication exclusively over Booking's own messenger. Bed made my back hurt.
It's frequented by interesting people, as is any hostel. Hot water worked. The place had an oven, which means I had deep frozen pizza for the first time in a while.

CanadaSome of the people there have found bed bugs in there beds, the kitchen is tiny so everyone is always stuck together, there is only one bathroom so a lot of time is use to wait for the bathroom, the rooms are tiny and don’t look clean, there is no reception which isn’t a problem, but when you arrive you have no idea what bed you are suppose to sleep in.
It is a cute hostel which is right next to the tram and bus station

New ZealandWeird set up, no one to check you in which is okay, but when I got there all the clean beds were taken, I asked a girl that was staying there what the deal was she said she thought the guy that was in one of the dirty beds had left, so I had to then find my own bedding and strip the dirty bed. Only one bathroom, and little kitchen for 12 people
The people that were staying there, was very friendly.

GermanyOne bathroom for 10 people is sometimes a little bit complicated, if everyone has to leave at a similar time There were some confusions about which bed was already occupied and which not. No tax forms left and no changing possibilities as you had to pay it in cash
Bathroom and kitchen were close to the room

PolandOnly one bathroom for 10 beds. Broken ladders in beds. There was no staff on the spot. We arrived at 10 pm and it was hard to locate free bed, luckily other guests helped us. Address on booking doesn’t lead anywhere, the building is not standing out making it hard to localize from the car.
Lockers for luggage. You pay 1€ and get it back when opening. The place is good for people like us who just wanted to sleep in tranzit at low cost

United KingdomI stayed for just over a week and after the cleaning service everyday beds had to be reoccupied and there was no guarantee to receive a bed for late check-in, as sometimes there were more people booked than the available number of beds. This could be improved by not overbooking and also labelling beds for travellers who stay longer so they don’t have to return early to reoccupy a bed. Thank you 🙏🏻

Czech Republica lot. The facilities are not made for a hostel more like an apartment, no shelves or boxes to put your things in rooms so you had to go down two floors to safe boxes just to take some things with you. Also some important things like check in documents were nowhere to be found so we had to improvise.

RomaniaThe place is much smaller than it appears in the pictures. The doors to the rooms do not lock, only the main entrance door. The pillow was not very comfortable, but the mattres was nice.
The hostel is located outside the city center, but very close to a bus and tram stop and the area is pretty quiet. There is a gas station right across the street, very convenient for some quick shopping. The kitchen was well equipped, we were able to cook breakfast and dinner to save some money.

United KingdomNo toilet roll! Not really suitable for women on their own, didn't feel very comfortable in a house full of guys without staff present. It wasn't cleaned until late in the day, way after check-in but was cleaned to a reasonable standard, although still no toilet roll! So definitely more of a guy's place, lol. Well used accommodation.
Easy enough to use the codes to get in and out. The bed was comfortable. It's quite a walk from a train station, trams nearby though. For Innsbruck prices it's good value.
