Only complaint - AC unit would rattle, sometimes annoying.

Great location across from Old Town and very close to attractions, restaurants, bakeries and shops. Friendly, helpful staff, very easy check-in/out. Nice room with very comfy bed, AC kept room at nice temp. Room fridge stocked with free water and juice. Good size bath with walk-in shower. Rooftop bar/ restaurant is very popular amongst guests and outsiders alike with great views of the Old Town and Salzach River.

We were offered a glass of champagne while we were waiting for our room to be ready (only 20 min). The woman and the front desk and the bell man were terrific! The location was great, but the rooftop was exceptional! The food was wonderful and the view was stunning! Parking is about 3 blocks from the hotel, but it was great to have a spot.

parking was expensive and quite a ways away from the hotel. However, grateful parking was available during the busy weekend we were there. The rooftop restaurant gets extremely busy so definitely make a reservation. Unfortunately I did not do that and was unable to be seated.

The location is perfect. Very nice atmosphere. Breakfast on the rooftop was delicious.

Rooms were quite small and the gym was new but only had a couple of pieces of equipment.

Furniture seems modern but is in fact oldfashioned and braking.

Location perfect. Price exorbitant probably because of festival time - double than after summer. Breakfast nice but worse than in comparable hotels. Very nice staff. Parking area good but nicely far.8

Front of house staff seemed uninspired.

Great location. Views from the rooftop bar were fantastic. Great vibe, drinks and staff upstairs. Room was very comfortable and good views over the river and old town.

Perfect central location for all the venues of the Salzburger Festspiele coupled with great service at the front desk. Our only downside was the much-lauded Steinterrasse, which really needs to embrace the concept of global warming. It was stifling hot, there were only 2 small fans and none of the umbrellas were able to angle to block the sun! In 30C+ at 5pm, we had to sit with our backs to the beautiful view to survive in a small slice of shade but many people just chose to leave…

The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. Ironing machine was ordered and delivered in record time. The hotel location is amazing near by all the city attractions. I totally recommend this place.

The fee for the pet and the breakfast were very expensive.

We really had a great time here. No complaints or things that could have been better. Maybe a great coffee machine in the room, if I have to think of something. It is nice to wake up and make a good tasting coffee before heading out for an even better cup of coffee made by a local barista.

Hotel Stein is a very nice hotel. Great lobby space to walk in and out to every time, friendly and helpful staff, we enjoyed a very spacious and nicely designed room for three nights. The location was perfect along the river and the kind of busy street in front of the hotel is not noticeable when inside and easy to cross when leaving the hotel for exploring Salzburg or getting a cup of coffee around the corner. Just outside the busy, more touristic city center.
