No room cleaning during the stay, despite the horror fee of 150 eur fee paid for “final cleaning”. Room supplies were missing (toilet paper, dust bin bag) and only available on request. Receptionist lacking smile or kindness.

Nothing not to like.

We were staying in aparthotel, perfect for families with small children. Rooms are big, kitchen is well equipped, bathroom is warm and clean. Everything is clean there. They have playroom for children, pool and you can ski from and to ski room directly from/on the slopes.

Extra payment for parking - this should be simply included in the bill. The ventilation in the toilets should be improved. Crowded pool.

Skiing directly from the hotel door, pool and spa, the rooms are really big, comfortable beds.

Beautiful design, modern but in charming alpine style, comfortable bright rooms with amazing views of the mountains, very friendly and helpful personnel, excellent location right off the town road and directly on the slopes (ski in and out), lovely spa with pool and saunas (including a less hot family sauna).

The hotel adds a €125 cleaning charge to the bill as standard. We had no interim cleans during the week so this was basically to cover the end of week cleaning, which to my mind should always be part and parcel of a hotel stay. It would annoy guests far less if this charge was just inclusive within the overall cost of the room. After a really great stay in a super property this left us with a bad impression at the end of the week and resulted in my rating for the property being lower than it would have been otherwise. Another minor point is the soft/low bench seating in the ski and boot room. Totally impractical and almost impossible to use for the intended purpose of putting on and removing ski boots. The benches need to be higher and firmer. Only suitable for children at present.

Location of the property is slopeside, brilliant for ski in, ski out. Katschberg is a small village so Das Alpenhaus is well situated for proximity to all amenities. Intersport ski hire on the ground floor is excellent.

A great place in a great location. Lots of activities to do. The Lungua card is a great benefit that can be used for a lot of attraction. Would definitely highly recommend this hotel.

The place feels dull, and the staff, though polite, seem a bit distant. They only provide the basics in the apartment, and you have to pay for anything extra, even an additional towel. They also charge for parking per day. It's a decent place, but it's too expensive considering what you get.

When arriving ask for a room in the highest floor because the noise coming from neighbours above was terrible. Or maybe we just had bad luck with them. But every single day from 19:00 to 23:00 it was almost unbearable to stay in our apartment. It felt like they were moving furniture for fun and discovering all possible ways to annoy everyone below. It is true that after our complaints staff offered us to change the room but we were already fully un-packed and settled and did not feel like packing again and moving around. Which might have been an unfortunate decision if you ask us now. But still - something must be done regarding this issue.

Hotel is full of Czech tourists who does not read or obey signs / instructions in the spa area. Also mini wardrobe in the spa area does not have locks, as a result my t-shirt was stolen. No daily cleaning service / you would expect from 4 stars apartment to be serviced. At least they could empty the trash. Elevator is slow and badly maintained (needs at least few door closings to finally close the door).

Not a very welcoming house. First: for parking you pay 12 € /day. The total cost of the room included a third of its price( 165 € end cleaning). That is outrageous! The hotel is being greedy at little details that make the guests feel well (like no Shampoo or Shower, no hooks for the Towels in the bathroom, extra toilet paper costs extra etc.etc.) We bought our own toilet paper in the supermarket!!! There were no Towels or Bath Robes for the Spa available (only for a fee of 15 € / Person). In the kitchen the coffee mashine uses special caps - there were none available. The dish washer had only 3 tabs even though we stayed a week! We bought our own in the supermarket, otherwise the hotel asked for a fee!!!! When we vacation we do not wish to need struggle for every little comfort... We have a lot of travel experience especially in spa hotels and are okay with paying a bit more in order to get comfort and feel a bit spoiled. This experience was dissapointing in all ways.

The location is good for winter and skiing. But not for other activities in August /September.

1. the pool is small and the sauna area is naked and mixed, which I doubt is necessary when thinking of the target group utilizing the pool area when we were there. 2. the staff were bland and laidback- goes for reception, restaurant and housekeeping. For instance no one said ”good morning” and the reception referred me to the tourist office instead of answering- for them- simple questions of the surrondings. Also, when using the elevators housekeeping went before guests, which maybe not is the most guest friendly

playroom and playground was really nice for the children. the apartment quite cosy, clean and well equipped.

Appartments were nice, restaurant with good food but way to expensive - swimming pool is way too small for the number of appartments and water was rather chilly. We were missing a bit the "cozy" atmosphere

The hotel didn't clean their parking lot of snow. For five days they didn't shovel their parking lot. The two of us, aged 65 and 66 had to clean the parking space in front of this hotel, in order to be able to park our car. And in the end alpenhaus katschberg 1640 charged us money for it. 6€ per day - 24€ total, for a dangerously snowed-in parking lot. Never in my life have i witnessed that. And the price for the parking lot isn't even stated in the price book you get in the room (it says 2€ there). It is absolutely ridiculous to charge your guests for parking, and it is out-of-this world crazy to charge for parking on a lot the guests shoveled themselves because the hotel staff didn't. Not to mention we almost had a car crash on the way to the hotel, because all of Katschberg, and the road to it isn't cleaned. Our 4 wheel-drive SUV couldn't go on anymore because the road was covered in a few centimeters of hard snow, as the road obviously wasn't plowed for a whole day. We called the hotel for help and they sent us a tractor to pull us up the mountain. On reaching the top, the tractor stopped abruptly making us bump into him and damaging our car's front. And the tractor driver charged us 50€ for that, without issuing a receipt or anything! When we complained to the hotel about all the issues we had, they didn't really care. In fact, when asked to book us the tractor service for the way back, the lady at the reception didn't want to at first, saying: "Unlike in Croatia, Austrians actually clean their roads, so it won't be necessary.", basically insulting us on a national basis. And being blatantly wrong, as the roads obviously weren't cleared for days (also, croatian winter services are surprisingly efficient, much better than what we've seen around this hotel.) In the end she called the tractor-man who didn't pick up, and gave us the number to call him ourselves.

The hotel looks nice on the surface, and it's in a beautiful location. But going further you realize how bad it is, both the hotel, and the resort. In the attached photos you can see roads around the hotel and the whole Katschberg "being clear of snow", just begging for a traffic accident to happen.
