Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNoise travels in this old building. For the most part it was not an issue, but one morning construction in another part of the building started at 7 am which was not very pleasant. The other guests were polite during my stay and I didn't hear them most of the time.
The staff were accommodating of me arriving early. I was able to drop my bags in my room and change even though it had not yet been cleaned from the previous guests. The location also can't be beat!

GermanyThe front staff wasn’t very tentative, fighting in front of costumers and I got charged twice. I had already paid and they charged me a second time. The hotel did return the money a few weeks later.
The location is great and it is on top of a night club!

SerbiaWe could have been informed about the renovations. The elevator was wet and smelly.
The location is superb! if you are interested in sightseeing and museums, you can hardly find a better location. The cheapest underground parking in the area is only 400m away. WiFi was stable and fast. The staff was very friendly.

United KingdomThe room was ok though the bed and pillows were pretty soggy and there was no minibar in the usual sense ie one with a fridge. In truth its not really a hotel in the normal sense rather a number of self catering suites located in the old Palais Palfrey which is now in multi use. hence why you have to pay a breakage deposit which is refunded albeit it takes a good 2 weeks to get your money back. It would be a lot better I am sure if you have a self catering suite but as we had just a standard room we had no access to hotel facilities. However as it is so centrally located there are plenty of places to go to eat or get breakfast.
The location is excellent, and its relatively cheap compared with most other centrally located hotels. The staff were friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThe fact they took the money twice and this was in the TC's which clearly I didn't read which I guess was my own fault so be careful as the owner was quite rude about it online. But I cant really complain as the place was lovely and the location was perfect didn't and we were hardly in the room. Money was eventually returned so all good in the end.
Wasn't included

United StatesThe only thing I didn't realize is that staff aren't on site 24 hours. Just during the check in and check out. But they do give you a text contact for if you need to reach someone.
The location is just so central to everything I wanted to see which was perfect! Also the staff was helpful to stow my luggage at an early checkout when I had some morning excursions and I was able to come pick them up later in the afternoon.😊

United StatesThere was no air conditioning and if you open the windows there is way to much noise outside to sleep. The shower is incredibly small and the opening to get in requires you to slide in sideways.

SingaporeWhile the location is excellent. Coming with a car it really a headache, as the parking cost is very high. It is definitely not a 4 star hotel, and some of the items in the room are not so high quality (loose switches, misaligned cabinet doors). But I can overlook these as the price was quite good.
Compact room and in the heart of the city. The free goodies in the room (small champagne, chocolate) really made our day. It was also quite convenient to have a kitchen in the double room.

United KingdomIt is not really a hotel. As others have said, it's a number of rooms on the second floor of what is a commercial, albeit beautiful building. The ground floor is used as a nightclub on Saturdays, so expect very little sleep until appr. 4am in the morning, unless you are a heavy sleeper. On the first floor there is an events space holding live classical music concerts, which could be a plus for some people. There is a general feel of continuous work being carried out on the floor and the building. Our room for some reason, possibly due to lack of proper ventilation and the whole arrangement of the floor, was extremely hot, which made it quite difficult for me to sleep, even on a late October's night I was tempted to keep the windows open. We didn't have breakfast so cannot express an opinion. There was a couple of coffee shots in the room, but these were not replaced after use, or was there an espresso machine, just a kettle. The "hotel" has a weird policy of managing payment on their side, which means you need to allow them to directly charge your credit card, and they charge you a significant amount as a deposit as soon as you book, on top of your actual booking amount, which you wait to be refunded after your stay. I am still waiting for it, I've been told it can take up to 14 days for it to come through, which I don't understand and have not experienced in any other booking before.
The location was the best you can possibly ask for when staying in Vienna. It is really really central, within a couple of minutes walk to the State Opera, St Stephen's Dom and Spanish Training School. We stayed for three days and did not have to use any public transport at all. Belvedere Scholl was the furthest we had to walk and that was a half an hour's pleasant walk. The room we had was spacious enough for a family of four, with all the amenities required, everything was new, it was clean and the cleaners would come in every day to replace used towels. The people at reception was polite and helpful.
