How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

There was no fridge in the room.
The receptionist was exceptional! She ran the whole breakfast and reception by her own! The room was well refurbished and clean.

The receptionist can be clearer. One told me i can leave my bags in the room, and drop my keys when im ready for check out. But it turns out, i cannot leave my bags in the room after check out time.
The shared bathroom was very very clean. Room was clean also.

- Walls/door were not soundproof. There was too much noise, but I used earplugs and slept ok.
Very clean. It smelled nice all over. - Shampoo and showering gel. - Comfortable. - Personally I found the shower being inside the room very handy.

No kettle in room Feeble wifi Smokers sit at back door so reception area smells of smoke Location is handy for exploring Linz but quite a way through busy streets from the Danube cycle route

Wi-fi didn't work inside my room on the top floor. The ventilation in the bathroom turns on automatically even if you pass by and works very loudly for too long.
Location is great. Stuff is friendly. Accommodation went very smooth. Decently equipped room.

There are at least three floors and no elevator so a person with heavy luggage or mobility problems could struggle. Breakfast costs 9€ but doesn't have very many options outside cereal, ham and cheese.
This is a very nice little hotel about a 10 minutes walk from the main train and bus stations, so it's very convenient if you have to catch an early train or plan to move around the area. There's no reception after 6pm, but when booking they give clear instructions on how to find your key and get inside, and everything worked flawlessly. The main town square and monuments are also within walking distance, the neighbourhood was quiet and the staff friendly. The room was very clean and cleaned daily. Wifi was fast and stable. Price was very good for Linz.

Aestetics of the rom. Internet working just if you stay on the table. If you want connexion from your bed no chance.

Somewhat uncomfortable because of the shared toilette, although it was absolutely clean.

Quite busy street under the windows and quite weak wifi, but we didn't mind.

There was no elevator. If you have heavy luggage it may be a problem.
The room was huge and bright, and the bathroom was also clean. Near the main train station (10 mins by walking). The staff was friendly and kind.

The bed was the only thing that I would give a low rating. The matress felt very old. But it was still acceptable because of the good price.

You could clearly hear neighbouring rooms. The large windows were just Infront of the shower and bed, and needed to be concealed many times, but they had curtains.
Location was good - walking distance from central tram lines. The person in reception was very nice and accommodating. Sounds proofing in the room was good for street noise. Comfy beds, large toilet and shower room. Large windows bringing lots of natural light.

The wifi wasn't reliable in my room (on the top floor). I had to go to the lobby to get a strong signal.
Nice hotel near the downtown. Within walking distance of restaurants, grocers, etc. I brought my bicycle and was able to store it in a secure shed outback - this is a bike friendly hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. My room was clean and the bed was proper and comfortable.
