Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe preferred the dinner dining experiences in and around town (walking distance) over the more formal resort restaurant.
Everything. A truly exceptional resort hotel. The staff is highly professional and always pleasant. Breakfasts were a pleasure. The beauty of the location is second to none. Located for easy access to bus transportation.

United KingdomIt is perfect as it is
The hotel was beautifully presented and our room very comfortable. The view from the lovely large balcony was stunning and the parasol an added bonus while sitting out. Just a short walk to the lake where we could swim. The staff were extremely welcoming and very helpful, offering advice and ideas about things to do and places to visit. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. The hotel is a sister hotel to a much larger hotel next door which offers restaurants and activities we could join in with. There is a golf course as part of the sister hotel which has a wonderful cafe/restaurant. We enjoyed a delicious BBQ evening there with accompanying live music. The natural pool and delightful garden attached to our hotel, added to the relaxing and perfect atmosphere.

Czech RepublicIt would be really good if the the guests of the Garni House were allowed to use the main hotel pool/beach for extra charge.
Very well located, good value for money. It is a cheaper add-on to a more fancy hotel, however it is not allowed to use the main hotel's facilities, like pool or beach. Nevertheless, the staff offer a free of charge entrance card to the community beach/pool area for the entire period of the stay, otherwise the price is about 6 eur/day. Breakfast is ok, nothing fancy but all the products had good quality and taste.

AustraliaThe towels are a bit old. The sauna has very short opening hours when most people are at dinner. As we stayed one night we had no chance. The hotel was hard to find as you need to go on a private road.
This is also a 'bibliotel' so there are books everywhere which gives it a homely holiday feeling. We only stayed one night so didn't really get to read any. The reception is in the hotel next door. The breakfast was ample and diverse buffet with cheeses and breads. The bathroom was new and had everything we needed. Onsite parking is possible. Nice quiet surroundings with a short walk to the lake. The hotel has nice mountain views.

United StatesEbener’s Wald Haus was perfectly situated, and the opportunity to walk the distance around th he lake was right out the front door. The staff was outstanding and very accommodating.
We were kindly upgraded to the main hotel facility due to necessary repairs to the reserved room. Our room was a complete surprise overlooking the lake. We had friends from Salzburg visiting us for the evening and the waiters and staff were so impressive! We all had a lovely evening on the terrace.

SpainIdyllic spot for a retreat, with views of the lake and mountain, own private garden and pond, library full of books and sauna. The staff is supernice and attentive. Breakfast at the garden in a sunny day is a delight. You can also get free access to Fuschlseebad, where you can enjoy private access to the lake, swimming pool, fitness area, etc. Loved the silence! I will definitely repeat the experience.

GermanyThe entrance to the hotel is actually via the entrance to another hotel, namely the Waldhof. Not being informed of this led to a bit confusion.
Such a lovely hostess at the breakfast table, patient and caring. We had healthy food in the company of many grazing cows. A piece of paradise on earth.

United StatesThere were bikes available but from only 8am-10am. We would have liked to have been able to checked out before 7:30am.
My wife really liked the library with tons of options in different languages. There were lots of quiet places to relax. The natural pool and lake access were wonderful. The breakfast also had many options.

You get sauna for free and a natural lake where you can dive in after sauna. It is for adults only because you can go to the lake naked-but it is an option, not a must. The area is just stunning and staff very friendly. The breakfast is excellent. If you like books, this is your place. The guesthouse has a lot of books and a library where you can sit, read and enjoy the magnificent views. GermanyIt was a bit noisy in the morning when the cleaning staff went around, but that was not too much of an issue.
We booked this on short notice and were pleasantly surprised. This adult only hotel is part of a bigger complex but well enough separated from the rest. Nice nature pool and a lot (!) of books available for free at the hotel. It is called a "Bibliotel" (mix of a library and a hotel). Very cool concept and a very wide array of books available (though about 80-90% is in German of course). Good breakfast.
