To equip with a kettle and hairdryer would be nice. No aircon so it might be hot in warm weather.

Very special and unique place, inside an ancient monetary and on top of the hill looking over the valley. Simple but clean and comfortable. Especially if you are seeking peace of mind or to meditate, this is the place to be….

The sunsets from the terrace were spectacular.

The location 10-15 min drive from all main tourist attractions, yet if rite on top of the hill so you get a quiet peaceful stay. If you want to live in a lively happening area this i not the place for you.

The shower door was broken, a roller wheel disconnected. A minor thing.

The amazing location, the architecture, church and attending Vespers. The ability to wander around unhindered to explore the beautiful monastery. The peace and quiet, and the surrounding farmland and nature

Unbelievable location and unique ensemble of buildings; stunning atmosphere, especially in the evening. Exceptionally friendly staff at the cafeteria/restaurant (even though it's not a full restaurant). Exceptional wine available for purchase...

Being on the taller side at 185cm the bed was a bit too short for me. I could not quite stretch out my legs. And the bed creaked a lot, which kept waking me up. Take these comments with a gain of salt, it's still incredible value for what it costs. Be careful about the restaurant though, you can work up quite a bill for fairly basic food.

I went there for mountain biking and I loved that the monastery offers single rooms that are accordingly priced. And it is right next to the trail area in Göttweig.

The photos of the room are informative, so if you dream like me, to see the sunrise from the circular window..

It is a pleasant, calming experience. Everything there exudes kindness and excellence. The location is wonderful, very clean. Breakfast was amazing. We arrived late, traveling on bicycles, and the monk who opened the gate was very helpful, he even led us to the room, asked if we had eaten anything or if we were hungry. You have a kitchenette where you can make coffee or tea, a fridge with different beers or juices, also the abbey wine and specific apricot nectar.

    - Limited reception opening hours - The only restaurant over there serves warm meals just for couple hours around midday, then it offers snacks, sweets and drinks till 18:00 only. Unfortunately, there's no chance to get any meal after 180:00.

    - Unbelievably beautiful view of the surrounding area from the top of the mountain - Complete silence - Good breakfast

Although WIFI is available in the outer rooms the signal weakens as you get to the furthermost rooms. Usually good enough for retrieving emails but not strong enough to stream or even to simply browse.

Located on top of a hill Stift Goettweig offers a relaxing stay in plain comfortable outbuildings. Breakfast served on the main terrace is a buffet with all you expect of any continental hotel, but does run down quite quickly so best get up early.

Although the simplicity is part of the charm of the place, you could take care of the look in the room or a mini bar or a kettle

Breathtaking view from the room and the dining room balcony. A beautiful ancient monastery with an amazing museum.

The cheaper rooms are literally formerly monks cells. That may be what you are looking for. It you seek a bi of luxury, you will pay through the nose for it. The service was variable. Don't come after 2pm if you want real food. They only have sandwiches and cake. Restaurant closes at 6pm. My waiter tried to rip me off with the tip.

This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a must visit! However all things are not equal and you get what you pay for. The monks mix with the visitors and I had some very interesting conversations. The architecture is the finest, a magnificent example of its type. The views. What views.... as I said, a must visit, On the bike, these views are hard earned, in particular if you have laden panniers.
