Nothing to mention, but unfortunately the restaurant was closed on the day I stayed. I will definitely try the restaurant dinner next time.

The facility was well renovated. The shower room was super clean and had a nice modern design. The bed room interior was also lovely, it was like staying at a castle. Right above the hotel, there was a beautiful church. The hotel was located at the top of the hill, so It was a nice short walk around the area to see panoramic view.

No reception staff on arrival and having to access a box on a wall to access the the room key. It wasn't even a late arrival either, somewhere around 15:30. Would have been nice to have someone around to assist in getting the room. The place was deserted when I entered the property so if there was a problem with the room I would not have been able to address it with anyone until the next day. No restaurant open that evening either so had to drive back into Salzburg to find somewhere to eat.

The room was more than I expected, lovely view of Salzburg from the hill that Maria Plain sits on. Roomy and well kitted out. Property is well maintained and sufficient parking outside the hotel. Breakfast was adequate and plenty of choices.

We loved everything about Gasthof Maria Plain! We had no idea where it was located in relationship to Salzburg, but we had admired the church from the road as we came in. Imagine our surprise when we saw we were going up that hill towards the church. Parking was easy & convenient. The second surprise is that the hotel had its own charming Christmas market. The rooms were clean & comfortable, & every room had a breathtaking view. The fact that we arrived after a big snow storm just added to the beauty. It was a short & inexpensive cab ride to central Salzburg. The restaurant had a good menu, great food & reasonable prices. Breakfast was very nice. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We will be back next spring!

No kettle or fridge in the room which is something useful when travelling with small child (i.e needing to heat up milk etc.)

We stayed in this hotel for one night whilst travelling. we arrived on the day when staff had a rest day so there was no one at the hotel. Self check-in was very easy! Wonderful selection of breakfast. Hotel has been with the the same family for centuries. its such a beautiful hotel in a very good location. Not far from the centre at all.

At first, the tap water was salty (uh, it's Salzburg!), but after letting it run a bit, it was fine.

The hotel is a dream, and the view is stunning! We arrived on "Ruhetag" (staff was off), but the self check-in process was a snap. Great breakfast. Great rainfall shower. Super clean. Wonderful staff. The drive up to the hotel is steep, but there is plenty of parking. Great bus connections to downtown at the "Plainbruecke" Stop at the bottom of the hill.

On the first night here there was a band playing for a party immediately outside of our room (109) and the drums literally shook the door to our room. It was 10:30 when we decided to go down to ask to be re-roomed and the band stopped. My thoughts are that this room (which was literally right off the party room) should not be used on nights when there is a party. Our second and third nights there were quiet and peaceful.

This place is beautiful! It far exceeded our expectations. The staff was wonderful - especially the your woman who managed the very plentiful and excellent breakfast. Our room was very comfortable and the whole Gasthof felt very welcoming. We will be back.

We stayed 2 nights, both days were "quiet days" where hotel was minimum staffed. A bit spooky at night.

It would have been nice if there were screens on the windows as we had the windows open during our whole stay.

There was plenty of parking available The room was nice, clean and large. We had a late night dinner on the terrace which was wonderful. Loved the view of Salzburg and the church bells! There were a lot of options for breakfast.

The location of the hotel is amazing with a great view of Salzburg, near the forest for strolls during the day. A picturesque location to relax. The hotel has beautiful decor with meaningful history and the rooms are spacious and clean. It was like being part of the sound of music! We will certainly come back!

Unfortunately, due to traffic problems I arrived at 10pm. Everything seemed closed up. After searching for a while on how to get inside, I rang a doorbell. An old man answered and seemed very cross! He pointed out I was late, gave me my key, and pointed towards the stairs. Very rude! I wasn't offered any refreshments, luckily I had some cheese, bread, and wine in the cold bag.

Everything!! It was such a beautiful location and hotel. The waiter at breakfast was so lovely, he madame feel very welcome and relaxed.

Really missed an electrical plug in the bathroom and felt getting out of the shower was a little treacherous. Marble floors in bathroom. We managed though.

Loved loved loved the location! Can’t be beat. Meals were great , staff very helpful and friendly. Loved the fact that they had a lift in the building.
