How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

For us it wasn’t important since the view is there as soon as you leave the door, but don’t expect big views from the flat.

We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment! The location was great, with the lake, restaurants and shops all being very close by. The kitchen and bathroom are very modern while the other rooms are more traditional. Our hosts were very hospitable and attentive!

The owner was super nice and friendly. The hospitality was amazing. They even let us stay longer (past check out time) because there were no new arrivals without extra charge. Thanks again to Hanna for that offer!

There is no elevator. It is recommended not to bring too heavy luggage..But that's not a problem for me.

Only downside was that it could be noisy at times with people coming and going from adjoining apartments, but I'm sensitive to noise. Closing the windows helped, but wouldn't be ideal in warmer weather.
Apartment is comfortable, nicely updated, and well-maintained. Kitchen was well-stocked and there were extra linens, which we appreciated for our longer stay. Wifi worked well. Hosts were accommodating and responsive. Easy to get to from the main train station for those without a car and who don't mind walking a block uphill, plus several flights of stairs.

Beautiful apartment in the heart of Gmunden. Very large, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Incredibly nice hosts who replied immediately to any of our requests. The best place we have ever stayed. Hope to be back!

During all nights there was a noice from people outside in the streets and bars. On the other hand, this is a “tax” of the perfect location in the city center.
Large, but cozy, well cleaned apartment was perfect for our family vacation. Very nice and friendly communication with owners.

It was really nice and big, and everything we wanted to see was close to the house. The kitchen is big and fully equipped. The little street was noisy a bit, but it was Friday night 😀 I would really recommend it to every friend group or family

the place is on a small square right in the center of Gmunden. It is a two-room apartment in a historic 16th century house that has been modernly renovated. The kitchen contains everything you need for cooking, the bathroom is clean and the beds are comfortable. The lake is only 100 metres away. The keys are picked up from the box outside the door, the arrangement was without problems. We were satisfied with the stay and the place.

There is construction going on within the entire building it seems. It didn't cause us any problems but was a little bit of a surprise to see.
Apartment is recently renovated so looks very nice and modern but with character. We only stayed one night so did not get to utilise much in the apartment but it all looked great. Hosts were easy to communicate with via WhatsApp. Location was great, a nice short walk and you are in the centre of Gmunden.

We liked everything. There are only tiny things that haven’t affected our stay - shower in the bathroom has doors that open inside and it is a bit more difficult to get there (at least holding a baby but that was only our special case:D)
The apartment is very spacious and beautifully decorated. During renovation, the owners took care to preserve traditional elements such as the ceiling or the stove, and this added a very stylish and pleasant touch to the apartment. Also cool movie posters, designer couches or designer bench were carefully selected to create rustic feeling of the place. Other amazing points to mention: a great location, three double beds, a large kitchen where you can find everything you need.
